This week’s Foto Friday Fun was open to several options. Readers could either send me one of their favorite photos with a story or link to their story, or choose a number from 94 to 104. Three people sent a photo and three chose a number. Nice balance.
From Diane blogs at http://lifeincharente.blogspot.com, http://aboutmebeforecharente.blogspot.com, and http://photodiarydps.blogspot.com sharing photos and stories from her life’s travels from the past and present. “My favorite photo of this year is the reflection of Rochefoucauld Chateau in the River Tardoire with the old bridge in the back ground.
“The chateau originally dating from the 11th century stands on the edge of La Rochefoucauld. It was modified many times in the following centuries to become the impressive renaissance monument we see today where the family still live in part of it. The arched bridge across the river Tardoire below the castle dates from the 15th century.”
Bibi chose #100 because it, “Reminds me of those $1.00 shops.” I believe she’ll appreciate my $1.00 cut-glass stemware from a thrift store complete with Kaluha. And although I can barely believe it I made it into two thrift stores last week and didn’t buy anything.
Sherry chose #94 which takes me back to Frankfurt, Germany in 2010. A fellow Couch Surfer showed me around her city during a seven hour walking tour. We had a lot of fun and I learned about the city’s history.
Jo chose #102, one of my favorite places at Grand Canyon. Toroweap is exceedingly remote and offers an iconic view 3000 feet (914 m) straight down into the Colorado River. It’s such a long drive it’s most practical to camp there to enjoy amazing sunrises, like this, and sunsets.
MaryBeth sent this amazing shot and shares a story. “I just love this pic of Kylee on my horse Ambush. Kylee is either running barrels or running poles and she just goes all out. Love the flying hair. Kylee is 19 now and this shot was taken about 5 years ago. She still races and still goes full bore. Sadly Ambush has gone to greener pastures. She was a great gal.”
Elaine chose #97, Black-bellied Whistling ducks that I saw where my Mom used to live in San Benito, Texas.
Then she also sent in a favorite photo from a recent post about Creamers Dairy.
My choice this week shows how much growth has come up in Yarnell just over two months since the Yarnell fire. Looks like I’ll have some weeds to cut down when I return in October.
Thank you for joining in Foto Friday Fun. I really enjoy digging through my archives and pulling the stories from my memories. Plus it was fun to have readers share their favorite photos as well. I’ll do that again. If you’d like to join in next week leave a number between 10 and 1010 in a comment and maybe see your chosen image next week.
Do you have a favorite from this week?
Look for other photos posted on Geogypsy Facebook page not usually seen here.
Nice photos, especially the sunrise.
Thanks Salika.
Well dang it, I was going to send you pic but I forgot. Great selection this week. I have to tell you my favorite is the girl on horseback. She is all in on that ride.
My number this week is 101. I don’t know why I like I just do!
You’ll get another chance Yogi. I too love MB’s girl on the horse. Have you down for 101. Isn’t that prime? 😉
That was a good idea having readers sending in a shot. Thanks for posting Kylee’s pic. I like all the pics shown.
Funny how nature can come back from something so devastating as a fire—there is hope.
I want to pic the #1010—-just because. Thanks. MB
I love that shot of Kylee, it says it all. Although still strange to see the green is encouraging. Have you down for 1010.
Nature is definitely amazing. But so are your world travels. What a full life you’ve made for yourself. I’ll choose 605 the house number they put on the farm after they took away my great RR2 Box. How can you have a street name out in the middle of no where?? 911 knows all.
Yes, nature is amazing. Have you down for 605. Silly 911 changing our addresses.
Great selection of photos an a good idea to have from other people as well. Have I picked 912 before? Not only the new number plate of our car but a porsche model as well 🙂 Amazing how new growth takes off so soon after a fire, i have seen it so many times in S,Africa. Have a fab weekend, Diane
Thanks Diane. I’ll do this again having others photos to share. Love your reflection shot. I was rather shocked to see so much green in the fire areas. No matter, you are down for 912.
Oh. I meant to come back last week and enter after I read the post…I was trying to decide whether to choose a number or send a picture and I did neither one. Before I forget I will choose 500 for next time. Along with a tree-named street, it was actually our first street number after we were married (and the hot upstairs apartment was not as nice as the number sounds!)…..
Enjoyed all the pictures very much….amazed at how the growth is coming back at Yarnell.
I was blown away by all the green in Yarnell. Glad you came back with a number this time. Have you down for 500.
Hello there!!! Finally am able to stop by and visit:) It certainly does get crazy around here. Glad to see some green. Love the Black-bellied W. Ducks. I have yet to see something like that in an urban setting. All of my views have been from far away! Enjoy your weekend! Talk to you soon:)
Those ducks were so strange to see balancing on roof tops and even the fire hydrant.
Thanks for the Kahlua! Just had a Margarita… I enjoyed all the photos, esepcially the one where Kylee is riding the horse. My new number is 19, since oh, gosh, I forgot my daughter’s anniversary, which was the 19th…
Cheers!
Kylee on the horse is my favorite too.
Have you down for 19. Shame on you. 😉
Great collection of photos. Amazing how fast the landscape is recovering after the fire.
I was surprised to see so much green.
Fun group of photos! Good to see Yarnell greening up. I’ll choose 111 for this week.
Yea, Yarnell gets green while you get white. Have you down for 111.
Fun, Gaelyn – some great shots. I love the older one of the gal on the horse! Speaking of Kaluha, that’s what the paint I just chose for our master closet is called. Made me think of the “olden days” when I’d have a kaluha and cream after dinner. Snow due here overnight.
I too used to enjoy a kaluha once in a while. Going to cold here but no snow yet, thank goodness. You keep it please.
That first photo of Diane is stunning. Love the reflection. As usual your Grand Canyon sunset catches my eye. Beautiful. I didn’t even get around to sending you something but will try to tonight.
It was fun to change it up with others favorite photos. I’ll do it again. Hope you will pick a number for next week.
I love Diane’s first photo. Brilliant! Thanks for the beautiful sunset on my choice. Please could I have 1000. It’s a good number, that’s all! (((Hugs))) Jo
Diane’s photo is amazing. Have you down for 1000.
