Another beautiful sunset from Toroweap. This actually comes from the first night camped there and I’ve already showed you the second night. After the long and bumpy ride we set up camp in a hurry and quickly walked the mile to the rim. Looking down on the Colorado River in the last light, Lava Falls rapid could be faintly heard.

That is beautiful Gaelyn!
Sweet-sounding name, Toroweap. Mean something? Soothing photo.
Toroweap means “dry or barren valley” in the local Native American Paiute.
Oh wow you have some amazing views around there and the sunset just finishes it off. Keep well Diane
The perfect ending to any day, Gaelyn, and you’ve captured it beautifully! Breathtaking!! Have a great weekend!
Great photo, Gaelyn. If I could travel anywhere, I’d visit Macchu Picchu, or maybe the Galapagos Islands. But hey, Africa sounds pretty good, too.
Macchu Picchu and the Galapagos are both on my list. So many choices.
Magnificent!
Happy Sky Watch Friday!

Gaelyn, beautiful view of the canyon and the sunset. Thanks for sharing, happy skywatching!
What a magnificent view.
Moments like those you mention are things I use to keep me from screaming at teenagers. I go to them as my “safe place” when the whining gets out of control:) Lovely shot.
This is such a beautiful shot. I really like the ribbon of water winding through the canyon.
No that view is so well worth the walk. Stunningly beautiful.
Extraordinary!! MB
Simply Gorgeous. I’m making it my desktop. No doubt it would look fantastic enlarged and framed. I just love looking at your photos. Can hardly wait to hear where you are going to go next to take fabulous pictures.
Thanks Sherry. I’ll have some news coming soon on my next destination.
Lots going on here, the layer after layer of the canyons, the great colors in the sky, the river. Great beautiful shot.

I love the muted colors. You have a great vantage view of the canyon. Lovely shot!
A truly beautiful shot – just magnificent.
