Is there an eBook in your future? Not just reading but also writing.
I follow this informative website called copyblogger with loads of good ideas to help me become a better writer writing better content. Well they’ve put out a challenge as an alternative to National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) along with tips and incentive support, “How to write an eBook in 30 days.” I’ve had a couple ideas roaming through my head and even have made some notes. I’m going for it. No time like now while I’m unemployed.
So I’m off and writing. My plan is to offer free copies of my eBook before Christmas. OK, that’s more than 30 days, but you must allow for some outside editing and formatting. It will still be a challenge.
Oh yea, what am I writing about? Going to the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park: What you need to know to go, and I’m open to suggestions.
I challenge you to join in. What topic will you choose to write about?
I’m writing an e-book about Survival Lithuanian for Rail Travellers. Tougher than I thought.
Good for you. I’m sure this won’t be an easy challenge, but…
Fabulous shot of one of my favorite places! Good luck with your writing!
great idea – best of luck with the project – and as you now I didnt get to the North Rim on my first visit to the GC – the ebook no doubt will be invaluable when I revisit – also love the image – great shot
Thanks. Before next summer you’ll be able to get all the scoop on the North Rim.
FANTASTIC….what a sweet project! I’d purchase a copy…good luck!
Wow! You are intrepid…when you think about doing something, you just jump in and do it. And of course, there is also that you have the talent along with the determination! I am so impressed. And I think you should sell the book.
Tanks Sallie. When this book is done it’ll be available on Amazon/Kindle. I’ll let you know.
I agree…….great photo and you should sell that book. I would bet it would be a real seller. I can’t imagine a publishing house wouldn’t want a book by a North Rim ranger with all the ins and outs that could be updated every year. AND with such fabulous photography. Send out some feelers.
A book in 30 days sounds like a HUGE challenge. Good luck!
When the eBook is done I’ll list it for sale on Amazon/Kindle. Haven’t thought about it in paper yet.
Oooo….I’d love to join you on this journey but I don’t have the time. But I’d love to read what you’ve put together when it’s finished. Good luck on your goal. It actually sounds exciting. Hoping you have a nice day. School is almost out:)
Thank goodness I have some time when I’m not working. The first goal is to write 1000 words a day.
How can school be almost over, it’s only November?
I know a couple of people I’m linked to on FB who does it every year. I barely have to to blog or even read a bog so writing is out of the question. About 5 years ago I started a novel and finished chapter one. That is as far as I got. Wish I had the time.
The challenge is to work on your book every day, even for a little while. Then something is getting done. Maybe time to dig out that novel.
Go for it! This is a great view of one of the world’s beauties!
Thanks Ebie. I appreciate the encouragement.
I would love to read/purchase that book. I will be headed for the North Rim next summer. Hope to boondock.
Before next summer the eBook will be available to help you make plans for your North Rim visit.
I had a thought as I read about your book. I can’t walk far or stand for very long. I use a transport chair, which means tiny wheels and it is pushed so lumps and bumps are bad. Can I enjoy the North Rim or do I have to see it from the parking area?
I don’t know if you were planning on addressing the issue or not, but it would be nice.
That is my suggestion. I also agree with the others! We already know you write beautifully, so selling your book is just a good thing for an unemployed park ranger to do on her time off!! lol 8*)
Melissa, thanks for the suggestions. I will include what areas are accessible. Your transport chair could make it to several overlooks.
Good luck with this terrific goal!
Can’t wait. I am sure it will be great.
