Packed and almost ready
If you don’t live in a RV you probably already think it’s pretty tight living space. But when my 34 footer has all three slides open it feels like a palace to me.
Yet when I hit the road the slides come in and it gets pretty tight and hard to move around.
Sadly I’ve left the North Rim after a wonderful summer season of Rangering at Grand Canyon.
Now I sit in Flagstaff because there’s a few little things that need to be fixed so this morning I’m headed for the repair shop. I hope to only be here one more night then head to my winter home. Then I can park, level, and put the slides out and it won’t be such tight living.
Goodbye Grand Canyon until next spring.
From where I sit it looks HUGE!! I wonder if I’ll ever adjust to the small space living. My lil Lolita is shall we say…..cozy.
I get lost living in big houses.
Fabulous “digs,” Gaelyn. Flagstaff – another favorite spot in Arizona. Have a safe trip! Oh, and I love your blog – your header makes me swoon. Aaaah….
Thanks Debi. Now that everything is fixed I’ll pull out tomorrow for home.
I think it looks lovely and spacious, Gaelyn. And you’re SO neat! We’re going to downsize when we leave EA for SA one day and all I need is a small office space with lounge chairs,a kitchenette and Grant needs his garage/workshop ! Happy travels on your way home. Hugs Jo
I could do this. I’ve even investigated those ‘Tiny Houses’….but if you’d like something larger, I saw this place on Yahoo news that is up for sale: Click here!
I’d get lost in that and never find my way out, but it is beautiful.
I don’t think I’ll have an RV but I go to the RV shows because I like looking at them and it amazes me how they organize the spaces to make them roomier especially with the sliders out.
I love my palace with slides.
Your RV looks very nice inside. And, the good thing is, even with the slides in, you still have access through the middle. So many people only look at RVs with the slides out, then find out that they can’t access anything at all when the slides are in.
Thanks Colleen. I shopped for over a year to find the right layout. The only thing I can’t get to is the dresser drawers, and I planned ahead for that. So true that many units are almost useless with the slides in.
That’s a difference! But, you can still use everything, as I recall, and that’s important. Sad not to be able to sleep on your bed because you’re retracted.
We would love to see you, but won’t be heading for Flag today. However, our desert is your desert! [I asked Google Translate how to say that in Spanish, and I think it said “The desert is the desert.” More tautology than I was looking for.]
I can still sleep in my bed. The only thing I can’t get to with slides in is the dresser, and I thought ahead about that. If only I didn’t have to plug in for a full fridge I’d be out in our desert with you.
Thank you for sharing time with us during our visit to the North Rim! I hope your winter is exciting and Spring returns quickly! Love your 5th wheel!
Just the perfect time to come to Australia before the weather gets too hot and the grass is still green for a couple of weeks. Love your RV.
I love my RV to Arija. May be a little while longer before I make it Australia. Not a great rate of exchange right now.
I am always amazed of how much can be achieved in a so well organized space!
I wish you an exciting winter!
When our slides are in we can’t get into the living/dining “room” at all. Can access the bath and bedroom only. Good luck on the repairs and safe travels.
Goodbye from me, too. I’ll miss your Canyon stories. Have a safe trip home.
There will be new stories to share.
My sister had an 5th Wheel and I liked it. It’s like one big suitcase plus other neat things. I could travel like that anytime.
Suitcase, I like that description.
when i look at your little home, i think you might have more space than me and most certainly more organized. So fun to see how you live.
In a RV everything has its place.
Safe travels, Gaelyn! I am traveling myself. I am working temporarily in Minnesota. Who goes to Minnesota on purpose in the winter? I do!
Oh Dear. Minnesota in the winter. Hope you’re being well paid for this. How about a blog post from there?
Don’t you hate it when doing chores get in the way of living life? 🙂 Good luck, I hope you get on the road very soon.
Yea, I’m not much for chores. All fixed and on the road tomorrow.
I would be more than happy to live in your RV but on my own. I think I may find with two people it could be a little over crowded. Keep well and hope that you have a good winter away from the canyon. Diane
I prefer the space to myself. Although it really is big enough for two Very compatible people.
Be safe on your way down. Love the RV. I think that would be the perfect life. I like your house….it’s about the size of our place:)
I’d get lost in anything bigger.
Such a pity about the exchange rate. I would gladly put you up for a while and show you around (health permitting).
I know all about the disparity of the exchange rate, my daughter has been teaching in the US since Sept. – not worth bringing her earnings home.
Your country is so on my list Arija. I met quite a few Australians this summer and it seems we’re about even on the $.
I’m quite impressed with the size of the trailer when the sides are out. Actually quite a lot of space if you are single.
It’s like living in a palace to me. Anything bigger and I get lost.
Sad to be leaving the Canyon for the season, but I’m sure lots of new adventures beckon you.
It looks pretty spacious compared to our caravan
