I’m so rarely up early enough to catch sunrise that when I do I am in total awe.
Of course when camping I do tend to go to bed earlier than at home where the computer and internet distract me into wee hours of the morning.
I didn’t even have to crawl out of my sleeping bag or tent to watch the magic unfold.
Just set up the tripod and enjoyed the view.
Plus the ultimate in peace and quiet.
To view more skies from around the world go to Sky Watch Friday.
Oh, cmaon, at least get out of your sleeping bag!
Great pics!
Why when you don’t have to? 😉
I can just imagine being there. That view is awesome… stunning… Gods own artwork.
I’m like you. I sit on the laptop way too late to wake up early enough for sunrise but when I’m camping I do.
Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………….Ooooommmmmmmmmmmm…………………What a gorgeous morning, glorious experience, amazing view – feeds my soul, lady. Thanks for sharing this bit of your world with us!
I know how much you love sunrises and you’re so much better at getting them than I.
Oh my – what spectacular shots!
Now that’s the life. Watching a beautiful sunrise and you don’t even have to get up. Gorgeous pictures! It is easier to see the sunrise as the days get shorter and it happens later in the morning. But lack of electricity makes it even more likely. What’s the temperature at sunrise? Probably another good reason to hang out in the bag.
Yes I do almost see a few more sunrises this time of year. Morning temperature was maybe mid 50s. I was just being lazy. And putting off the long walk to the outhouses.
I am very envious… We had such a great time on our western trip and really enjoyed meeting you..
Next we’ll get you out to Toroweap Joe.
Definitely worth an early rise and what a terrific way to begin the day! Great captures as always, Gaelyn!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
Those are beautiful sky photo’s/We visited The Graand Canyon many years ago. WE were in awe. So beautiful.
I am in awe every day I’m at Grand Canyon.
Beautiful! That’s the advantage of camping on high ground with no forest or mountains to block the view.
Sounds like you are making good use of that new tripod. I’m afraid I too rarely set mine up, just lazy I guess.
The Esplanade is such a wonderful landscape with it’s sparse pinyon pines. Haven’t used the tripod since but hope to get out for sunset this weekend with it.
wonderful skies! 🙂
Isn’t that great! A wonderful testimony to the joys of tent camping. Is this now? Fabulous pictures.
I don’t tent camp very often. This was after I went to Chicago on the way back to the North Rim the beginning of October. I’m a little behind.
Wow, a fabulous series!
True Morning and Awakening breaks open the contents of the mind, spilling over and returning lost colours back into the uncharted abyss that is inherent in every Scene of Nature.
For me, true morning doesn’t usually happen so early.
Beautiful !
Oh those skies…….open and forming all kinds of mathematical equations. This feels like a cold and steamy cup of good coffee morning:)
And I hadn’t even made coffee yet.
Quite beautiful.
Beautiful! I simply must get out to Toroweap some day. I hold back a little because my brother got two flats on the same trip on that road!
Flats happen going out there but usually because of driving too fast. Plus I took the big truck. It’s SO worth it. More photos coming of Toroweap.
