As seen from Walhalla overlook
Visitors at Grand Canyon want every big bird they see to be a condor. And although I’d like to see them with more regularity, I’ll settle with a turkey vulture.
What do you see soaring above and below?
To see what’s happening in skies around the world go to Sky Watch Friday.
They do soar gracefully. I see so many that I often wonder, is there really that much carrion out there?
That’s why I don’t want to stop too long on the trail Martha. 😉
Great video-post! So much to see!
Thanks Hans. Places of the world beckon to me.
Terrific video and a great looking bird and so much beauty! Have a great weekend, Gaelyn!!
Thanks Sylvia. I’ll be having a great time at work this weekend.
You are absolutely spot on. Turkey Vulture or Condor….well they both are beautiful to spot above the Grand Canyon. Both are very cool birds to have around.
If I could soar like this I’d be happy to have a bald head.
Wish I could watch this but my internet speed will not cope 🙁 Maybe one day we will speed up in this rural area!! Take care Diane
I sympathize Diane. Especially after years of dialup.
Great video. They look much more dramatic soaring over the canyon than they do over our ‘canal cottage’ in the flatlands!
I think they are majestic no matter where, but the canyon makes a good backdrop.
I would love to soar like that. It seems so wonderful and free. Not sure I’d like a diet of carion though! 🙂
Heck, we already eat carrion, just cooked usually. 😉
I love that series of photos!!
Thanks Judy. There are so many more but mostly fuzzy.
So lovely, Gaelyn!
