OK, so I didn’t make it all the way to the end. I just ran out of time. When walking in the Ranger suit so many people stop to ask questions that I probably don’t travel at more than .5 mile per hour. At most.
View South thru the rocks along BAP trail the Deva, Brahma & Zoroaster templesBright Angel Point trail is .5 mile (.8 k) round trip that follows a ridgeline with a little up and down and lots of rocks to rest on along the way, sometimes. There are often drop offs on one side, or both. Take water. Pause to catch your breath. The view at the end? Well, you’ll have to wait for another day. Or come to see for yourself.
Your photos are awesome. Thank tou for sharing. Was in this spot with my Sister in law and hubby 3 years ago. We were spellbound and can’t wait to return.
Bev next time you plan to visit let me know and I’ll give you a royal tour.
Pure heaven so far — just wonderful views. There are so many times in NPs when we’ve been absolutely delighted to come across a ranger — seems like we always have questions; I think the roving ranger programs is the greatest idea ever. Although I can see that if you want to make lots of miles you’d have to go as a plainclothes officer!
I always stop Rangers too Sallie. Inquisitive minds. Really wish I had more time to rove. Yet even hiking in civies I occasionally get recognized. Tough job, but someone has to do right. 😉
Calling by from Our World Tuesday, your world looks stunning in these lovely photos.
Thanks for dropping by Lindy.
I need money to road trip up North:) You get me all antsy for cool trip. I sometimes wish it were closer. I have the tires now and the means…..just not the time or sufficient dinero:) These are gorgeous shots of nooks and crannies. Very very nice. Although I’m Mr. Height scare-dy:) I would pause often but just not look down.
I totally understand Chris. Suppose you are back to school now. You could enjoy the canyon without looking (straight) down. There’s always next summer.
That second photo is just awesome! I love how you framed that scene.
Thanks Sally. It’s fun to play with the rocks at the canyon.
Ah…surrounded by such beauty each day.
Bibi, everyone should be surrounded by beauty every day.
I try! But often it’s not so big as your beauty. I find little beauties!
Bibi, you find beauty all around. Love how you share it in your candid portrait photos.
Well, you did pretty good. Sometimes it is more about the journey than the destination.
Yogi, it’s always about the journey.
Really awesome photos. You are a fantastic ranger if people stop you to ask questions. Have seen a few that have an unapproachable manner but others are just great especially with kids. Makes such a difference.
Thanks Colleen. I’ve known a few unapproachables but most Rangers love what they do. I like working with kids, in small doses.
BTW, I still can’t comment on your posts and don’t know why.
I was at the Bright Angel Trail many years ago and walked down a part of it. Now I want to go and do it completely. Such beautiful photos.
Must be time for a visit to the North Rim so you can walk the Bright Angel Point trail. Or are you talking about going down into the canyon from the South Rim on Bright Angel trail?
I really like the framing of the last photo, Gaelyn. There are so many beautiful views from the rim, it’s impossible to choose a favorite.
Thanks Janie. I saw that opportunity and couldn’t pass it by.
