Stormy sky over Bill Williams Mountains from SR89 North near Williams, AZ
I watch the sky quite frequently.
Mammary clouds over San Fransisco Mountains from SR89 North Flagstaff AZ
I am fascinated by the shapes of clouds and landscapes.
In fact with monsoon thunderstorms visiting Arizona almost every August day the changes are constant and endless.

Many recent posts have included some excellent stormy skies.
Storm building over Mount Humphreys I40 East near Flagstaff, AZ
Been on the road a lot lately where I like the views with much sky.
Plus I haven’t posted a colorful Yarnell sunset in many months and caught this one during a recent visit there while visiting the dentist for what seems like the 100th time.
To view more skies from around the world visit Sky Watch Friday.
Now if only those clouds are allowing some rain to fall! It’s been raining here all day – the pro bikers racing in CO are getting wet. Hope your mouth is OK.
Barb, we had lots of rain yesterday afternoon and into the evening. The ground even still looks damp. But I wouldn’t want to be a biker under these conditions.
Thank goodness the dentist visits are causing no pain, to my mouth anyway. Just a long process to get my new teeth.
You’ve had some interesting skies. Ours have been pretty much clear blue boring. Doesn’t make for many interesting sunsets either!
We have had a lot of interesting skies lately Sally. But I don’t mind seeing some “boring” clear blue once in a while. And the clouds do make for some amazing sunsets. Sunrises too if I was awake enough to get out there.
The skies have been active. I’ve been so moved by the colors, shapes, styles of clouds that I’ve been taking sky shots…….usually not my kinda thing. But Arizona skies are the best.
Chris, you should think about posting some of your sky shots and linking to Sky Watch Friday http://skyley.blogspot.com/
I’m scared:) Actually, I’ve never learned how to link to these kinds of things. I always see people doing these kinds of things but it still remains a mystery on how to do it all:) But I’ve got lots more sky shots coming….monsoon has been incredible and the sky is absolutely gorgeous. One of the best reasons to live in Arizona:)
Scared? It’s really pretty easy to link to SkyWatchFriday. Their site is very self explanatory. Then you just add a link in your post. Great way to meet more bloggers and get more followers.
What dramatic and beautiful skies, Gaelyn! And your captures are superb! Makes it fun being out on the road when you can catch shots like these! Hope you’ve had a good week and enjoy your weekend!!
Thanks Sylvia. The skies really have been dramatic during monsoon. Have a good weekend.
For some reason I thought you had dental work done in Algodones. Thankfully we get to see the beautiful scenery along your drive. Lynda
I’ve had dental work done in Agodones in the past. Thank goodness I don’t have to drive that far for this process.
Beautiful skies! We had 2 LOUD thunderstorms here today in Mimbres NM! It’s cool here like the north rim! Thank you for sharing!!!
Geri I’m so glad it’s cool there and not like Hurricane. Hope all is going well.
That must have been a beautiful drive! Lovely collection of sky pics!
Thanks Kusum. All the drives around Grand Canyon are quite beautiful.
We’ve been having some great skies in and near Joshua Tree. Humid weather, but great skies! You have some beauties here!
Thanks Peter. The humidity as been quite high here also.
Beautiful variety of skies! That sunset at Yarnell is especially nice.
Thanks Elaine. I sometimes miss those brilliant Yarnell sunsets.
What beautiful skies, Gaelyn. We also have a Flagstaff in the Eastern Cape, SA. (Nothing as beautiful as yours) I’m glad your mouth is getting better. Have a great weekend. (((Hugs))) Jo
Thanks Jo. Guess I missed the SA Flagstaff.
What beautiful and varied skies. I love skies and clouds particularly when I’m laying on my back on the ground on some soft green grass. I am very surprised at how really lovely the blue skies and white puffy clouds of Florida are. Guess I thought all the really great skies were out west. Thanks for taking such terrific pictures and sharing them.
Guess I’m not too surprised there’s blue skies in Florida also. So where are you off to next Sherry?
Big, blue, and beautiful…except the last one, which is blue, orange, and beautiful.
Clouds I love and you captured some very intriguing ones. Love ’em all. MB
I love watching the clouds too. I even took a meterology class in college because I thought it would fun–turns out it was mostly math! I did, however, learn a lot about clouds.
I took a meteorology class too. Didn’t like the math, but the pictures were sure pretty.
