Seems like I live in hiking boots. I wear boots at work and boots for play. And I’m picky about my boots because as much time as I’m on my feet comfort is a top priority.
I received these Columbia sportswear hiking boots from Sierra Trading Post and have been giving them the test. I found them very comfortable right out of the box. And they’ve continued to support my feet and ankles through many miles. Plus kept my feet dry during stream crossings.
I’m a happy hiker.
These new boots were provided to me for a review.
I don’t wear boots but I would with those. They look comfy.
Now that is cool to get boots provided for review. I was going to say that I’m always afraid to buy boots on line since it’s a lot of trouble and sometimes expense to send them back if they don’t fit or aren’t comfortable. Plus, unfortunately you have to wear them for a while and actually hike in them to find those things out. Most places don’t like you to dirty up the merchandise and then ask to return it.
I too was leery of buying boots that I hadn’t tried on first. And although these have proved very comfortable Sierra including a return label that would cover postage but the return couldn’t be worn outside.
I am picky about my boots too. I am a big Merrel fan – they seem to fit my feet well. And for my walking sandals…Keen’s. I piked up a new pair about two weeks ago with a coupon. I hope that they last the same 4-5 years that my last ones did!
The right footwear is critical! I have seen so many people suffer while out hiking. It’s all about finding what works best for you. I have a major love affair with Asics running shoes, they have done me good! Enjoy the path that your trusty boots take you on!
I keep trying to tell my DH that one good pair of shoes is far better than half a dozen cheaply made ones. Yeah, DH is the one with the closetfull–not me.
I do have a thing for quality shoes and may own more than I need. Yet quit buying cheap shoes a long time ago and now shoes last me many years.
It’s good to have good footwear. Oh goodness, wet muddy trails, constant walking, rocky trails…..you especially need to have good footwear. I have a pair hiking shoes that have major traction on them to get me up and down the canyon sides. And I have water shoes for getting around the rivers and streams…it’s nice that you have two in one! Keep cool:)
I’ve been looking to get a pair of boots. I’ll have to check these out.
I could do with a pair of those. Bit too far though to get them posted and they are not the right size. I am trying to get used to the different sizes here in Europe to what we had in the UK. Have a good day, Diane
I am a Merrel’s fan…
I have a pair of Colmbia’s that I bought 2 years ago, still stiff and uncomfortable! Somebody told me I should get them wet and then wear them to shape to my feet. Heck, I like your deal better, take ’em out of the box and have them fit like you have been wearing them for years!
That last pic says it all — if they weren’t comfortable, you’d want to pull them off when you finally got to sit down!
When you are on your feet all day long you need very comfortable shoes. Great blogging perk receiving the boots for a blog review. I wish I could get a couple of review requests like that.
Did I already say how gut-clenchingly jealous we are that you were asked to review Columbia boots?
My feet are so odd (webbed, four-clawed, etc.) that I don’t dare buy online shoes. They need to be men’s 7.5 (hint, hint, Sierra Trading Post). Annie’s pads are more conventional.
They sound great, though!
Jealous! We are so jealous! They sound great. I need boots…
Why not go boot shopping and when you find ones that fit pitch to the company for a free pair.
That’s a great idea! I may do that.
Sorry about the double-posting. My first didn’t appear for a while, and I thought I might be glitching.
For some reason your comments have been going to spam. But I check it daily. At least the spam quit coming into comments.
I think pitching for products is a good deal. Only my first time trying it. I plan to pitch for some tours and accommodations for my winter travels to Central America. Heck all they can say is no, or yes.
