This has been the week of meeting bloggers.
Last Friday before leaving Hurricane I was invited to visit Chuck & Geri from http://www.phunnyfarm.blogspot.com/. The minute we met and hugged we started talking like old friends that just haven’t seen each other in a while. We went to lunch and before I knew it hours had passed and I still had a three hour drive back to the canyon.
Sunday when I arrived to work at the visitor center Joe from http://www.myqualitytime.net/ and his wife and friends were waiting for me. More hellos and off the conversation went. Unfortunately not for long as they were on their way out of the park for more adventures. I didn’t have my camera so am waiting for photos from Joe.
Wednesday night I visited with Garry from http://geotripper.blogspot.com/ and his wife at their campsite in the North Rim campground. Again like meeting old friends, plus a geology mentor. I wish they could have stayed longer to attend the 1st Annual Geology Festival Friday night. Garry would qualify as a speaker. I’ve learned so much from his posts about geology in general plus Grand Canyon and the Colorado Plateau specifically.
Last month Martha from http://zettsett.blogspot.com/ and her husband camped here also and Mike and I joined them for breakfast at the Grand Lodge. I love following Martha’s adventures around California. She gets to places most of us have never seen before and shares the views through her fantastic photography.
What a treat to meet people in real time that I’ve been following in the blog world. Sure hope to meet more of you. So when can I expect your visit to Grand Canyon?
And speaking of blogging, I’ve been working on this site to make it easier for folks to follow Geogypsy wherever the path may lead and along the detours through life. I hope you’ll choose one of the new options on the side bar. And maybe leave a comment now and then. I mean, how can I meet you if I don’t know who you are?
It’s always fun to meet bloggers IRL. Looks like quite a few people have made their way to see you.
Wow you really have had a busy week of visiting bloggers. it amazes me how well we get on when we meet in real life. Then I guess if we were completely different we wouldn ot be interested in each other’s blogs! Love that last photo, stunning. Have a good weekend Diane
Well for crying out loud. I didn’t know you’d changed your address. I wondered what happened to you. I remember reading that last post you did but I must have done it with my eyes and brain closed or something. I did not connect. I totally apologize and all of these posts I missed. I can’t believe I did that. So now I will spend some time today catching up on three months of posts I missed. And now I will put the NEW address onto my sidebar. (Shaking head in shame!!) So sorry. 🙁
One day, hopefully soon, you and I can finally meet. I feel like we’ve been friends forever!
What a busy girl you are! It is so cool meeting fellow bloggers that you have developed a relationship with. And it’s true – it’s as if you’ve been friends all along. Just the way I felt when we finally met last year! xox
Honestly! Last Friday I was in Hurricane. Well – Thursday night anyway. We left Friday morniing.
I think a trip back to the North Rim is in order; maybe mid-October!
It was really good to meet you Gaelyn! It really did feel like we had met before and the conversation just picked up from where we left off! We will definately try to make it by the North Rim before we leave here.
What a fun time! I’m thinking between the months of August to October:) Whenever, the money comes back into our household again:) I’d love to meet you. Love your blog and your blog personality. I imagine you to be a really wonderful park ranger with a kind soul and some good witty humour:)
I have to admit that I have met some incredible bloggers and birders over this past year. And like you say, it’s like seeing a friend that you haven’t seen in awhile. Have a fun weekend. Hopefully you have some interesting tourists that will entertain your days:)
I always enjoy meeting those bloggers who I have been following for so many years in some cases. It is really a trip!
Fun to meet so many new (old) friends. Our one visit to the Canyon was very brief, and I’d really like to visit again–hopefully soon.
Wow! You are getting to meet all kinds of fellow bloggers, what fun! I am sure it helps that you work at such a beautiful location, convincing people to come isn’t too hard! It was sure a treat when we got to meet you in person. I hope you have a summer filled with many more visit from others.
I think it is great to meet other bloggers and hope I get the chance to meet you in person someday
I agree with everybody else, it’s always great meeting bloggers you know in cyberspace. Pity I don’t have more bloggers around here like you have there. As for us, we will still meet either in SA or at the Grand Canyon.
I am so envious of you and of those other bloggers for getting to meet in person. I would love to meet you and some of my other favorite people. (Martha and Joe are already virtual friends and now I want to add those other two who sound so interesting!). Sadly, our traveling is slowing down considerably, but I really hope we get to come back to the Grand Canyon one of these times and if we do I will certainly let you know..
It was really great sitting down and talking with you the other night. It was great to be back on the North Rim again too! I was really happy with the photo ops on our trip, so look for a bit of Grand Canyon blogging before long…
Sounds like you had fun Gaelyn. I hope someday soon you can add me to that list!
BTW, as far as your website is concerned I like everything about it except that when I comment on a post there is no way to get back to your home screen without hitting the back button. You know how on blogger you could just click on the blog title and it would take you back? Or, there was also a “home” button. I can get to your “herstory” page and other links but not back to your home page. You might want to add a tab in for that! Just thought you’d want to know.
This just makes me jealous that we’ve been blog friends for how long now? and we’ve yet to meet! It WILL happen…one of these days…soon?
I should be there late Sept, or early October. Hope you’ll still be there.
