I needed a change of scenery, and to go shopping.
Always love those first views of the Grand Staircase, although not the bugs on the windshield.
Looks like some clouds building and I’m praying for rain.
How would you like to live in this funky adobe? It’s for sale.
Almost to Hurricane, Utah after a two hour gorgeous desert drive and it’s only 97 degrees F. Thank goodness for AC.
I bought this ASUS netbook for traveling. Very light and this post is brought to you by the baby ASUS, which is a bit slower than the mega ASUS.
At 103 F, the rain came accompanied by thunder and lightning. Thank goodness after I’d checked into my hotel for the night. Received several “severe flash flood warnings” on my phone. So now to see what the fresh day brings, and finish the shopping before heading back to the Kaibab Plateau and Grand Canyon.
The low in St. George has been higher than the high in Yellowstone. Good luck with the heat and enjoy shopping.
Well darn! Wish we had known you were coming!!! We are still stuck in Hurricane waiting for RV repairs! Would have loved to have met up with ya! We are in WillowWind RV resord, behind Wendy’s!
Your photos bring good memories of our trip to the North Rim, from Page and Marble Canyon, past the Vermillion Cliffs, and back through Hurricane.
A great photographic story of your trip. It has not stopped raining here all day and it looks much the same tomorrow. A shame as there are celebrations all over France for Bastille Day! Diane
Gorgeous views on your trip to town!
We checked into the Beebe Bridge campground yesterday afternoon and it was 101 degrees. We did get a small thunderstorm during the night. Today we are in Chelan and it is only 98 with more chances of storms. 103? No, thank you! The downpour you experienced looks like you were in a real hurricane.
Hi. I love the North Rim but not sure I could handle the long drives for shopping. I have a netbook. Bought in Dec 2008, I think. Its great for traveling. Used to take in the train. Beautiful pictures.
I love your home, sigh. Also, a town named Hurricane? Amazing.
I got up early this morning to get some wildlife photography and hiking done. It sure is humid today!! Glad you had some rain to cool off for a bit. That little device is interesting….and your roadtrip sound really nice to me right now. You had some great scenic changes….I sometimes think about those adobes for sale:) I think in my mind they are wonderful, but the reality may be something else:) Have a nice Saturday!
That’s a beautiful, scenic drive. Love the little netbook. I’d like to have one for our next trip. Lugging my Sony laptop around is a pain. I used to think it was small and convenient until the I-pads and smiliar showed up on the scene.
The sky rockets were amazing when we were there. I could have taken hundreds of pictures of them alone. Great to get to see you the other day.
The most ordinary things in life are — for you — an adventure. Thanks for sharing it. That notebook is sweet!
Never without PC ! Lol

I love my baby Asus for travel! But it is hard to get used to that teeny keyboard.
wonderful to see your images
so glad you got some safe rain
i hope you enjoy your mini computer…. i wonder how much that house costs, is it on the hwy?
It looks like a nice trip. We haven’t had a rain storm here in ages. I love your little netbook. Give us an update on how it works every now and then. I’m going to have to replace my laptop at some point and would like something less complicated that manged to get the job done, even if a little slower.
It really hard to imagine that you have to drive that far just to get your shopping done. Looks like you got rain. Not nearly as much as we had though I imagine.
I saw that adobe but Norma wouldn’t slow down for me to go over there. 🙁
