I walked out my door and through the pine forest.
Destination, employee rock off the Transept Trail. Except I didn’t climb out on the rock.
Several people had stationed themselves along the rocky rim.
So I settled onto an available boulder with a pine for company.
Plus the profile of Abraham Lincoln.
And shared the glorious show.
Which continued to brighten over the canyon walls.
Then softened.
Until I returned to the forest walk home.

Glorious and in Technicolor, too. Thanks.
I had never seen the Lincoln rock before.
Gorgeous sunset! You captured it wonderfully!
This is just a lovely post. Right out your front door. Lucky you. What a wonderful view and such a spiritual experience. Wish I could have been there. LOVE love love sunrises and sunsets. What a planet! What a universe!!
Glorious trek indeed! Your peaceful observations are welcome to someone in the Midwest.
Enjoy your weekend!
The canyon is a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Lovely series, Gaelyn. Thanks for sharing.
Great shots.
Glorious skies and colors and no better way to end a day — any day! Really superb captures, Gaelyn! Hope you have a great weekend!!
Beautiful…..how relaxing! I wouldn’t be near the rim or standing on one of those isolate cliff areas…..too afraid of heights. Your middle shot of the sun just coming over the ridge is superb. Tonight it was cloudy and I wasn’t able to capture much. Hope you have a nice Friday!
Beautifully captured sky!
Fire in the Sky

Incredible — breathtaking….. I love that you captured the whole series as the sky changed. And again, what a wonderful backyard!
Wow, just wow. Thanks for sharing.
These are stunning but I’m imagining that these photos doesn’t come close to seeing the real thing. One day, I promise
