Seems to be popular for the old classics to visit Grand Canyon.
Last time it was Franklins and this time vintage Chevrolets.
A car club from around the USA.
Remember that old slogan, “See the USA in your Chevrolet”?
Well these folks are doing just that.
Some were more restored than others. Quite a contrast to the new trucks.
My big Ford looks a little out of place in this line up.
Another step back in time.
I don’t really know one car from the other so feel free to identify.
Love the old cars. I had to laugh at your parting comments. I love to look at the old cars and trucks and appreciate them but I don’t get balled up on the models and years.
Brilliant post, Gaelyn. I just love vintage cars and you had a glut of them visiting the Canyon. Jo
I want that yellow pickup convertible!
It would have been fun to see those in the parking lot!
I love vintage cars, too. Love the hood ornament on that Chevy.
Great pix!!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!
Not something I would have expected to see at the Grand Canyon.
Those are just so cool!!!
Beautiful cars. It just amazes me how these cars can make these long hikes. Do the drivers have a/c?:) It gets pretty hot out there. And how do they get up those hills? What a great bunch of cars to have around. Hope you are enjoying your day:)
That’s a really neat trip for these car guys to do…they must keep them in great shape internally as well as out. Yours and Mike’s vehicles look very futuristic parked there….
Imagine touring in these old beauties back when they were new!
Touring the Grand Canyon in those vintage cars must be a hoot! They all looked so new.
You have some wonderful shots of these “dear old” cars. I can’t tell one from the other, either, but I attended an all-British Car Show in Vancouver for the past two years. What comes across to me is the camaraderie of the people who restore and love the cars, and the sense of history that seems to lurk in the upholstery. I imagine the families getting ready for their outings, maybe sipping wine at a picnic, and piling back in the car for the trip home. Thanks for a fun post!
I love anything old and/or rusty – great shots!
I wouldn’t mind having one of these to show off every now and then. They really are head turners.
