I feel the tug and pull as the Grand Canyon beckons me home. Yes, it is that time of year. I’ve had a wonderful winter of quiet and healing while working on my long-term dream. Yet it’s not difficult to dream of staring in the Big Ditch while walking under a Ponderosa pine forest. Or hiking into the canyon’s depths through multiple ecosystems. I’m ready to greet the visitors, answer questions and help them connect to this beyond amazing place.
This week involves last minute packing and getting my 5th-wheel home ready to roll. I plan on pulling out the 16th and heading only as far as Flagstaff where I’ll stay for a few days getting some minor repairs done on the RV and stocking up on groceries. I should also see FabGrandma and Grandpa in Flagstaff where they too will stop before the final leg from their Georgia home.
Going to the Grand Canyon! Hope you’ll drop by for a visit.

Looking forward to your posts from the Grand Canyon.
Maybe this will be the year we finally make it to the north rim. I’m not counting on it though, life has a way of getting interfering with my plans.
🙂 I’ll be stopping by for a visit!!
Looking forward to meeting you next month.
It seems like you just left!
I’m meeting my Dad, brother, and sister in Payson, AZ in early May to see what is going on. We lived there 50 years ago and just going to see what changed. I don’t think I’ll make it to the big ditch.
Sure wish you could make it the Big Ditch for a visit.
I’m so excited for you!!!! I cannot wait until you get everything all set up and you’re settle in:) I am back after a wonderful trip into the middle of the ocean and viewing incredible Blue Footed Boobies on Bird Island in Mexico. Amazing wildlife we have here!!!
I’ll be looking forward to your grand adventures at Grand Canyon! Just think of all the great impressions you will make on yor visitors because you took the time to be sincere. They won’t forget you. I’ll be watching from Texas. Enjoy.
Oops. I mis-spelled “your”.
Oh good, looking forward to the canyon photos again. Diane
I have no idea what OWT means but can understand your desire to get back to the North Rim. Been there a couple times & liked it much better than the south rim because of it’s lack of people & tourists everywhere. Loved the peace & serenity of the forests leading to & at the rim itself. Grrrreat place to be for the summer:))
Kelly & AL visit the North Rim … http://thebayfieldbunch.com/2007/11/wed.html
We just drove by the north rim yesterday! There are a few patches of snow here and there but the road was clear. Scary hill up to north rim entrance, but I’m still alive! LOL! Chuck and I made it to Zion River RV Resort in Virgin Utah about 3 pm yesterday, Easter Sunday! Have a wonderful summer!
It’s been a while since I was there, but such great memories!! I know how excited you must be! Enjoy! I look forward to your summer posts!!

Can’t wait to see more pictures!
I’ve always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon and hope that this will be the year. Now that Saint Gene and I have a little freedom to travel, the “Big Ditch” is first on our list!
Spectacular photo of the Canyon! Have a good trip back.
Drop by for a visit? You must be joking. I’m tagging along. LOL! I can’t wait for “us” to get back to Grand Canyon
What a rough life…in such beauty! ;<)
That really is a very big hole in the ground! It’s on my bucket list, as Australia is on yours!
Cheers – Stewart M
I could feel the excitement! The views are neverendingly beautiful!
Oh, I have been to Flagstaff, only for a brief layover.
Visiting Grand Canyon is at the top of my list of the things I want to do this year. Hope to make it! In the meanwhile I look forward your post and further shots!
Safe travels Gaelyn! If I ever get back there I hope to come and see you AND the Big Ditch!
Safe driving…
