Need a lift? You could ride the buggy around town, or back to your car at Wickenburg Gold Rush Days.
Back in February, when it felt more like spring, Berta and took a Sunday drive to the 64th Annual Wickenburg Gold Rush Days. We usually go every year but had missed the last couple in order to save the dollars we tend to spend at the arts and crafts booths. All we did was look.
The variety of talents and art styles dazzle the eye.
You can buy wraps of cashmere or cowhide.
My favorite was the 3-D wall art, but I have no walls large enough for this 8 footer.
Berta thought I should buy a tree just the right size for my RV home. But alas, I have black thumbs.
We perused the art show in the library.
Gold Rush Days celebrates the 1863 discovery of gold along the Hassayampa River by Henry Wickenburg and founding of the town. Three days of activities range from gold panning, mucking and drilling contest, a shoot-out on Frontier Street, rodeo, arts and crafts booths, carnival rides and games, and lots of food.
