I actually got up early enough to get to the rim for, not quite sunrise, my first morning at Grand Canyon.
However I did see the first light on the canyon walls and temples highlight the reds and golds of the upper most rock layers.
What a way to start the day!
With a wary greeting by this mule deer buck along the trail back to my truck.
What a view! You got some great photos that morning. I've always wanted to stay in the desert, but I've never made it out there for long enough to camp. If you're ever looking for campgrounds or travel destinations, check out RV123.com. They list RV camper information from all over America. You can find campgrounds, shows, rallies and even dealerships on RV123. Check it out, I think you'll like it.
I second, what a view. Do you always get up so early? I'm glad you do.
Zowie! Wowie! No more words. MB
Those scenes must have been a thrill after so many weeks of not seeing the Canyon. I love the progression. Such beautiful colors. And the buck is not that fearful of you!
WOW that sunrise is amazing. Great photos. Also love the deer. Diane
Lucky you, Gaelyn! What a glorious sight. The light in your photos is just awesome and the detail in the rocks is amazing. That deer looks like it's slinking away from you.
Wow! gorgeous shots! The light is spectacular! Welcome back to the Canyon!
This REALLY makes me home sick now!
I won't throw you under the bus on getting up early 🙂
So glorious, these sunlit temples! I want to be back there!
Oh my word *BIG SIGH* It must move one inside to see this in the morning *another sigh*
What a place and what a way to start the day! I bet you are glad to be back.
