Rafting on the Colorado River changed the way I look at the Grand Canyon.
Several times I’ve crossed the Silver Bridge to hike up from the depths of the canyon.
We welcomed the cloudy sky which gave reprieve from 100F+ on our first day.
And yet the sun poked through occasionally as we floated down the river.
Plus the sunset from camp predicted a delightful second day to follow.

That is a pretty pink sky, and wow, what a majestic view of the canyon walls from the river level!
I absolutely LOVE your posts and your blogging! Thanks for sharing Gaelyn!!
These are all great pics. I love the bridge view and the pink sky.
I am sure this has given you a whole new perspective on the canyon, these photos are fantastic. Diane
Lovely capture of the sunset and yes, you see the canyon entirely differently looking from the bottom up.
Such majestic skies!
A MAN WHO LOOKED UP AT THE SKY
A man who looked up at the sky
Saw ravens and clouds flying by.
He had to look up,
The sky filled his cup—
He’s my kind of sky-watching guy!

I don't think you could ever get tired of looking at those skies Gaelyn! Beautiful and always changing!
Great canyon views and that sunset is just perfectly framed!
The rafting trip looks like fun. How long were you on the water. We did a half day on the Colorado in Moab, UT. I'd love to do a 2 or 3 day trip. You are in such beautiful country. I love it out there.
What a very different view of the canyon from the river! Your photos are wonderful, and since it's a trip I don't think I could manage I'm so glad you're taking us along.
Great first day, just keep those photos coming . . .
Love your new header too.
You truly get out and about. Marvellous adventures, and I am happy you have shared them!
I've been busy in the forest. Very different ecosystem than where you are!

The view of the canyon from the river is wonderful. And what lovely light promising a beautiful day to come.
that must have been an amazing trip! Your photos are gorgeous. It is hot here too…. but not quite that hot.
This is an awesome world.
Fantastic! I envy you! 😉
Beautiful photos…I especially like the strata. Had a geology class as a requirement in college, and enjoyed every minute of it.
These great photos brought back wonderful memories for me, Gaelyn. I floated and camped for 7 days – it was an unforgettable experience. Did you get to "swim the rapids" in the Little Colorado? Are you finished working?
Beautiful! I've always wanted to do this myself, but I'll settle for your photos!
Very nice photos, especially I like the last two.
Regards!
