Thursday Mike and I hauled a friends vintage 1955 Spartan trailer to Flagstaff.
Saw a little sundog over the Painted Desert.
Drove towards a major storm approaching Mt Humphreys.
Flagstaff has a very fun oldtown where I bought gear for my upcoming trip on the Colorado River.
Had dinner in the funky Galaxy Diner.
Where some nice old cars were parked in the lot.
On the return drive Saturday we again drove through a storm passing Mt Humphreys.
It rained so hard even the Little Colorado River was flowing at Cameron.
Then the clouds broke up over the Painted Desert.
And the sun shone on the Colorado River at Marble Canyon.
But the clear sky didn’t last as we approached the Kaibab Plateau where home is.

Thanks Sandy. I do agree. Anyone can live Their most beautiful life. I hope you'll share yours.
Beautiful, beautiful BEAUTIFUL!!!
I LOVE Flagstaff!!!
~shoes!
We visited Flagstaff a number of years back and loved it; thank you for sharing…it brought back some good memories!
Glad you're getting some rain, Gaelyn! Those skies look threatening. Love the green Colorado River shot!
It sounds like you finally got a bit of monsoon weather but perhaps not as much as you had been hoping for.
I infer from what you have written that you will finally get a chance to raft the Colorado. I hope so. My trip was one of the highlights of my life.
Lovely photos from your world Gaelyn! The scenery and skies look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
The Painted Desert must really be something special to experience with beautiful skies like that.
Ahhhhhh beautiful. Diane
Looks like a fun trip, even if a little stormy some of the time.
We're still getting regular monsoon storms.
I love that old Spartan trailer!! The new camera takes nice pics. Can't wait to see river ones.
We wound up only stopping in Flag for one quick night (and no jaunt to the Canyon), so this is making me jones for a nice three-day weekend there sometime soon!
