So, I left you coastal hopping along the Western Cape. As I continued around False Bay the Strandfontein Beach caught my eye.
Looking east across False Bay where I’d traveled in the above mentioned post
I’m not usually a big water baby. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy watching and listening to waves crashing on the shore. Yet I am very content with just that. No pressing need to wade into the salty water that leaves my skin crusty.

But, if the weather had been a bit warmer, I’d have gone wading in the pools built at this public beach.
Presumably to keep the big man-eating sharks away from the temptation of thrashing human swimmers.
Cormorants
Going through these images makes me want to return. Hmmm, maybe I’m due, or overdue, for another adventure off my own continent.
But first to finish documenting this journey where I continued along the coast towards the Cape of Good Hope.
All of the photos are gorgeous. I can imagine listening to those crashing waves. If there were any threat of man-eating sharks, I'd be hearing Jaws music and staying well ashore.
Its a pity that you didn't have sunshine weather while you were in Cape Town.
I've just caught up with all your South African posts… an amazing trip and you relay your travels wonderfully!
It looks like a beautiful beach. I do like to get my feet wet on a nice sandy beach, but just at the edge of the splashing waves.
Gaelyn, great shots! I enjoy beaches as much as you. I do enjoy seeing the shorebirds and watching the Waves. Your trip to Africa must have been wonderful with great memories.
