I never thought I’d get here, but here I am for the fourth summer in a row. Better late than never.
The North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park opened Sunday, May 15th right on schedule. Boy were we busy!
I worked some at the Visitor Center, roved along the Bright Angel Point trail chatting with visitors, and studied my programs to jog the lazy gray matter. Wonderful to access information thought forgotten.

It just doesn’t get any better than this.
And finally Qwest got me hooked up to the DSL I just knew was here. Yippee, I’m back on line! Will catch up with every body soon.

Great to hear that you are back at the Canyon safe and sound. Looking forward to all your pictures and posts. Take care Diane
There you are – I wasn't worried – I figured you'd lay the line yourself if you had to! Happy to see you back at your Canyon summer home.
Terrific shot.

We love camping and looking at that first picture it looks like you are camping all summer long. I'm imagining sitting on those benches around a nice camp fire chilling with something to drink after a hard day's work. Welcome back to work.
Hi Gaelyn, welcome back to the Canyon. Now that I'm back in East Africa, I look forward to a couple of months to visit this glorious place with you. (((hugs))) Jo
Breathtaking view! I would love to see the grand canyon once! Great photo!
Glad to see the paid vacation is up and running!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Another summer at the canyon. Lucky you!

How fun! Haven't been up to the GC for many years. One of these days I'm going to have to do that.
A place to park and a place to sleep and the last place on earth you count sheep.
Lucky you!! I can imagine your back yard right now!
spectacular landscape!
I've only visited the North Rim once, but it was unforgettably beautiful… so jealous! Spending an entire summer there would be fantastic!
We also enjoy hiking around and in the Grand Canyon.
Greetings,
Filip
So glad you're black on the North Rim. And DSL is practically essential. Good news that you're hooked up!
I'm glad your back on line, you've been missed!
We just returned from Yosemite and it was busy too. They didn't have the shuttle running that goes to Bridalveil Falls and no parking anywhere on that route. I can be happy just sitting in the campground and wandering around with my camera.
Great views and high speed internet. It doesn't get much better than that.
Wonderful news, so happy for you Gaelyn!
Oh Gaelyn, what a huge sigh of relief—yes!!! glad you are back where you are happy. You have had quite a time of it haven't you. Enjoy the summer where you are the happiest. MB
Wonderful that you are back at the Canyon! After the summer you've had you'll really feel like you're on vacation now. I'm glad Qwest finally came through for you–and for all of us who get to enjoy the Grand Canyon through your photos.
Great that you are back where you love to be. It looks wonderful!
It occurred to me that I've been following GG for about four years too? Did you start blogging when you began the seasonal jobs?
yea, you are where you want to be and on line!
I have enjoyed browsing through so many posts that I have missed…there are many many gorgeous scenes in your life! Welcome back to your beloved Arizona!!! Enjoy your new 'accommodation' VERY much! Home Sweet Home!!!
You are living in the lap of luxury–inside and outside!
You are so fortunate. I don't know if we will even get much camping and volunteering in this summer at Rainier.
