Driving on Texas 90 east from Alpine
Whenever I’m driving and see the “old” road I want to be there too.
Sorry for the blur, this was a drive-by shooting through a scratched side window.
To visit more bridges, or to share your own, go to Sunday Bridges hosted by Louis la Vache at bayphoto by clicking here.
It is a long way from Yarnel to your mother's home but your "blue highways" have shown me parts of Texas that are new to me. I hope by now you have safely arrived, I suspect that the hardest part of the trip has now begun.
Buddy and I would give out right arms to be doing what you are doing. He hike the AT and parts of the PCT as well as up into the Cascades. We are always talking about being greeters at the parks or taking summer jobs on one. We have NEVER been out west, and it is so sad We have missed so much. I really envy you. Your 3fer is a great shot…I am always thrilled when I can captured more that one in the same picture. You did a really good job of window shooting. Hope you are having a wonderful outdoor Sunday.
I'm always interested in the old road, too. Unusual to have 3 bridges. Maybe one is a railroad crossing?
Gaelyn;) agreed, I like the old road or the dirt road! Unusual – three bridges but the photo is perfect considering… Safe travels my friend. Jo
Great shot on your drive-by!!!
Bridges are so unique and one of my favorite things to "shoot at":)
Nice work.
It IS possible to take photos while driving. :)))) Drive by shooting. Ha! I love it!!
Three in one special…nothing but the best. Enjoying your blog…just discovered it. Also, the Sunday Bridges blog…mmm…very nice! Cheers from Nova Scotia Canada…a very long ways away! :-)Sophie's Dad Ron
And what a threesome this is!
I know, the old roads are always SO much more interesting. Even today, driving to a house sitting gig, I saw some old parts of the highway I was on. They were half grown over, but they look so much more interesting. The roads used to wind around the hills, and through the scenery, now its all about how straight can we get them so that we can go fast fast fast!
Fun shot!
I know the feeling, I always want to be on the other road as well. It is a bit the grass on the other side of the fence is always greener!! Diane
What a journey – I keep checking to see if you've arrived. So many people from TX are here in Breck over spring break, there is probably nobody left in the state!
I love this! I'd much rather be on the old road than the interstate, too.
yes, to have the time to explore the old roads properly.
I know exactly what you mean. I even felt that familiar lure of adventure looking at those bridges myself.
Threes the charm!!
I prefer the old or backroads myself. But sometimes ya just gotta get going. MB
The snatches of old roads you see along the way are always intriguing and look like a better way to travel than the roads today, although as a child traveling on those old windy roads I often got carsick…..
