Sunset over the Colorado River from South Kaibab trail
Hiking into Grand Canyon provides so many different experiences and stimuli as to put my mind and body on the verge of overload. After four days surrounded by the ancient stone walls, coming back to the South Rim world slapped culture shock right in my face. I’d have returned to the abyss if my legs would have carried me.

I’ll be posting the hike very soon.
What a stunning photo, looking forward to the hike. Diane
Gorgeous pic, Gaelyn. I'm currently reading a book called Death at Grand Canyon. Fascinating reading. Depressing, but fascinating all the same.
Great photo. I love the silhouette of the canyon against the sunset light.
Wonderful sunset! I like your picture very much!
The magic of the Grand Canyon! Beautiful, Gaelyn.
Molto bella questa lingua di fuoco !
Buona serata 🙂

Fantastic, the colors in this photo are extraordinary.
Stunning capture indeed. Sunrise and sunset often provide the best opportunities for awsome moments. Well done.
absolutely breathtaking!!!
Beautiful. I would be ready to snuggle down and read a book after seeing this.
Beautiful colors and sunset, Gaelyn! I will looking forward to reading about your hike.
I can just imagine how far removed from civilisation one can feel in the canyon and that returning is the low light of the trip. Any trip really.
Eerie and mysterious is my first reaction…I like this photo a lot.
What an experience! Lovely shot.
I'm with you all the way Gaelyn, give me the wilds any day and your can take civilized trappings and sink them into the ocean . . . on second thought, better not, that would kill the fish.
fantastic shot.. 🙂 wow
