I’m reading a lot of complaining about problems posting on blogger. I too was tired of fighting with the layout. So I tried Windows Live Writer. If you’re a windows user, try it. I think you may be able to download it free. At least check it out. For you Mac folks, I don’t know what to say. Maybe WordPress is the way to go, I haven’t looked into that.
Yup, Live Writer is the way to go… Thanks for showing me around and teaching me how to use it.
Hey, turn around… 🙂
I have tried both Google chrome and Explorer, so now I will have a look at Live writer. Thanks for the tip anything is better than what I have had to put up with today. Diane
I bailed on Blogger in August and imported my blog into WordPress. There are less bells and whistles, it's true, much less customization possibilities, no changing of fonts and font colours and such, but I haven't had a problem posting since. That's good enough for me.

Interesting. I haven't encountered any problems with my blog. And I posted yesterday, today, etc. Guess I'll just be glad I'm lucky? =)
Have discovered I cannot use live writer as I only have XP. It runs on Vista and 7 🙁 Can't afford an update! Diane
If Mike uses it with XP then…. It certainly says on the download it is only for Vista and 7. I wonder if there was an earlier version as this is the new version (2011) they now seem to have. Diane
I tried Windows Live awhile ago and it was easy to use, but I couldn't figure out how to post pictures that could be enlarged by readers online. Maybe that has changed by now.
I haven't had trouble with Blogger so far, so I'm staying with it until I do.
I have found an old version but my laptop will not allow me to download it!! Diane
I LOVE Windows Live Writer and have been using it for over a year now..allows lots of customization not on blogger.
It is a free download and works like a dream.
So if you haven't tried it I suggest you go download it and take it for a spin.
Funny. I just posted about this on Blogger's forums. Something about Service Unavailable Error 503…which just means Blogger is experiencing technical difficulties. It sucks. I haven't been able to post comments on MANY blogs that I wanted to, and the few times I could post new Blogger wouldn't allow it – yep, Error 503. AND, even uploading pics. I've been so bumfuzzled, perplexed and p*ssed that I usually just log off in a fume and go pour another glass of vino. Yeah….I've been having those problems too. Haven't tried Windows Live but still…shouldn't Google/Blogger not have this fixed by now? Obviously, I'm on a rant. Hm….maybe I need one more glass of …. vino. XO! me!
I use a Mac and have had no recent problems with Blogger. I also have a WordPress blog and it has its glitches too. I am not savvy enough to set up my own webpage and learn html.
They just came out with a new version of Live Writer, too. It's much more like Word 2007, but otherwise seems to work the same as the old version of Live Writer.
Live Writer is basically a life-saver.
I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but haven't had major troubles with Blogger other than their not being available sometimes. Keeping fingers crossed. I travel with my little Linux-operating computer, and so far, so good.
I haven't had any problems on Blogger yet, touch wood. But I have been contaplating moving to my own domain and using a WordPress template
My problems have mostly cleared up except for the error 503 I still sometimes get.
For while blogger is ok. What the difference with word press? How much free storage do they give you?
I am too used with blogger, and it is hard to change.
Hello Gaelyn I dropped in from Elaine's Artic View blog and enjoyed reading your comments on Live Writer as this is also what I use to post on our blog. Sometimes, it is quirky, but seems to work (most of the time) and free is a good thing. I was using Windows Live Photo Gallery (also free) to do some basic photo editing & cropping, but Picasa (free from Google) works better and lets you do more. Feel free to drop in for a visit at our blog:

We do enjoy visits and welcome all comments. Currently we are on our first trip to Maine to watch the fall colors…really beautiful.
I am using WordPress on a hosted website not, started out with Blogger. Once I got everything set up, it is a piece of cake and don't have any problems with it.
