I have now walked two short parts of the Arizona trail with Mike and another on my own to the North Rim Lookout Tower. So far the trail has been old two-track road.
Mike wanted to test out his backpack for a future canyon hike. I was concerned about weight.
Brachiopod
We always find fossils.
Mike invented fossil sponge bowling along the trail. Hey, maybe it will catch on.
Of course we saw some mushrooms. Looks like this one met a truck boot.
And this is another view of Papa Smurf’s house.
Mike packed a delightful picnic.
And we enjoyed the forest around us.
How I love the dancing Aspens.
I find your posts most interesting Gaelyn – seems as though there is so much mountain and hiking to be done in your neck of the woods.
PS. Thanks for always posting on my blog – comments always appreciated.
Looks like you took a nice outing.
Sounds like a wonderful day out, and the picnic looks yummy. Diane
But – does Mike dance? Especially after carrying that heavy pack (and bowling…). On the other hand, he does fix a great looking lunch. Loved the hike, Gaelyn.
I think next time I'll put more rocks in my pack to get better exercise… LOL
Hey, these are great, and amusing, too. Makes me want to hike. How much exactly did your backpack weigh?
That lunch looks delicious!! WHy was I not invited? 🙂
What fun you two are having and thanks for sharing it with us—long distance.
I wonder if sponge bowling will catch on. MB
That aspen trunk is just amazing. You have to wonder how it made so many turns in one short lifetime!
That lunch looks great. Mine aren't nearly that good. I want Mike to pack my lunch on my next outing.
Bellissimo parco 🙂 !!!!
