Kaibab squirrel
After we finished the laundry, one of those jobs at the bottom of my list, and checked the mail for our new glasses, which did not arrive, we took a walk up the Bridle trail to the “developed area.”
Where there’s development there’s ice cream. And I can never say no to ice cream. I just don’t usually get to enjoy it like a tourist. Very nice indeed.

Just what we needed for the walk back on the Transept trail.
This log beckoned challenged Mike to walk across, not once but there and back.
Not me, I was perfectly content to sit and watch.
I'm with you, Gaelyn – licking the cone and observing…
I am also an ice cream fan:-) That log looks challenging. I have no fear of heights but I am not sure my balance would be that good!!Diane
That picture of you sitting eating ice cream and enjoying the view is NOT allowed on the blog Gaelyn. It HAS to be banned because it is totally unfair of you to tease us like that!! 🙂
LOL!! You looks so relaxed. What a wonderful way to spend your free time. There is just one thing missing in that ….. ME!! LOL!!
I love the last photo of the view past your shoes, Gaelyn. And YUM, who can say no to ice cream. We have the best ice-cream here in Khartoum (no Arabic word for it, it's called " 'scream" lol. I applaud Mike for taking up the challenge of the suspended log. Have a good rest, my friends. Hugs to both of you. (((Jo)))
Thanks for sharing – browsed around your blog a bit. Very nice.
Boys will be boys. If its there to cross it will be crossed. I would have.
Good for you—someone has to be the sane one—sometimes. MB
That's a great picture of you on the lodge veranda.
I so long to be there !!

What a lovely day communing with nature rather than tourists.
The log was only about 30 feet high, or so… Probably could have flapped my arms maybe three or four times on the way down 🙂
The Ice cream was just what the Dr. ordered! Good fuel for the walk home…
How fabulous lol, that is the life!
I loved the last shot! I'm with you. I'd just stay there with my ice cream and enjoy the view.
Gaelyn: I say a great walk for Mike.
What a beautiful relaxing day! I am glad you got to be a 'tourist' in the canyon to just sit there and enjoy the beauty together. And of course, ICE CREAM!
mmm…ice cream! AND viewing the Grand Canyon at the same time!
