Hello all, just checking in from South Africa. I’m loving every minute of South Africa yet often find it difficult to post. Seems like I’m running out of time and there’s still so much to see.
I spent last night in Gonubie near East London with a delightful couple of CouchSurfers and we had an improntude Bri, that’s a BBQ but probably spelled wrong.
Then got a late start this morning and it was a long drive to Addo Elephant Park, plus a while to get thru.
Was suppose to meet up with Jonker but it was so late and the sight of the city of Port Elizabeth scared me, I don’t really like cities.
So instead I landed at a B&B just past there in Seaview, where I can’t see the sea, and I’m using my hosts computer. Oh well.
Tomorrow I’ll finally get on the Garden Route. Good thing as I fly out of Cape Town in a week. I’ve certainly learned that one month is not near long enough to visit. Next time, longer.
Glad you checked in. I've been a bit concerned since your last post. It sounds like your seeing a lot and your enthusiasm shines through your posts.
One more week? I've been wondering when you would be headed home.
Good to hear from you Gaelyn and nice to know you are enjoying yourself. 🙂
You'll have so many wonderful stories to share when you get home…looking forward to that! Have fun and be safe.
Smiles
Be safe and have fun!
Glad you're having a good time. Be safe.
No matter how much time you have for a trip it seems like it's never enough time to see and do all the things you want to. It's especially hard when you have a lot of distance to cover. But there is always a next time, and the second time is always easier to find your way around. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos after you get back home.
You have a bithday cake and some ice cream waiting for you here when you get back… Was going to hire a clown, But opted not to as I know you will be very tired… So I got the One Man Band instead. Do you think that was a bad idea?
Enjoy, and don't worry about us. We'll be here when you get back to the states.
True about a month not being long enough…or either are two… I always find I'm 'short' on something when I travel.
a braai in Gonubi – sounds like heaven!
happy travels,
Dale

well I am really enjoying your posts and all of the lovely photos. thanks for allowing me a glimpse of South Africa!
Oh BRILLIANT that you've had a "bri" Gaelyn! I trust you get onto the beautful Garden Route safely and soon. We are on our way to John and Deb and children tomorrow so I hope you DO have longer next time and we can meet up. Glad you;re enjoying our beautiful SA. Hugs Jo
Good to hear that you're well and still having adventures, Gaelyn!
Sounds like you are having a ball and are safe. Keep having fun.
Gonubie is where my folks lived just after they got married – when they were one of only a handful of houses. Changed much since then. Glad you're having a great time.
Don't worry about posting..plenty of time for that later…ENJOY…
I was a bit disappointed that we couldn't meet up, but realised it was getting late when I didn't here from you and actually said to the Damselfly that you should rather push on than still drive into PE to meet up with me. You may not have heard me, but you did get my thoughts it seemed.
Like Dale said, its spelled braai.
