Zowie and Rachael
This photo doesn’t get any bigger. It was scanned and sent to me this summer after I refound my married family. This is my two step-children. I believe it’s from the early 1980s after we’d moved from Illinois to Washington. My x-husband expertly wrapped all the packages using containers like coffee cans, paper towel tubes and boxes. These were happy times.

Christmas is a time for the gathering of family, be they by blood or by choice. I hope you all will have a sharing time of love and joy over the holidays.
Sally from The (Mis) Adventures of Karl and Sally has started a meme where the past is remembered through sharing old family photographs and this is #29. I love the idea and hope you will too. So join the fun by clicking here.
Don't you just love discovering "refounded" folks and photos? What a precious memory, Gaelyn. I wish the photo was bigger but that it's here at all is a miracle. "By blood or by choice."….that sorta says it all. Love this, Gaelyn. Merry Christmas to you, dear.
That looks like a string of popcorn. May we all expand and turn ourselves inside out.
A fond memory, Gaelyn – this is the season for remembering. I wish you a Happy Holiday and the best in the New Year.
Always great to re-up with family and/or friends. Cute picture. So nice to remember the happier times.
Wishing you the merriest of Christmases and hope the new year brings you bunches of happiness. MaryBeth
I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and New Year my friend and that 2010 be the best you have ever had.
Soon you will be here and we will be off on our trip. I am so looking forward to it!!
Hi Gaelyn, I went back to the link of how you found your x and family. Lovely, brought tears to my eyes. I enjoyed this post as well. Have a wonderful season with your friends and dear ones. I have the family with me (as we have been together since mid-Aug) and I'm blessed to have them while alone (with my dh in North Africa) I'm soon to be off to be with him, though. We're not celebrating in any way; my post today is one of the reasons for this omission – I don't want or need anymore than I have when others have SO little. Be blessed and I cannot wait for 2010 – perhaps we will meet somewhere, somehow when you come to South Africa! (((Hugs))) Jo PS Thanks for your kind comment about my garden and I too, like all the wild bugs and creepy crawlies in my garden!
Hi again, Gaelyn;) I'd like to contact you via email and cannot find your contact address. I had it on my computer but have changed laptops so don't have it any longer. Could you mail me and then I'll mail you… Thanks Jo
Just stopping by on Christmas Eve to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a delightful New Year. Thank you for a fabulous year of beautiful photography and amazing prose, Gaelyn!
Merry Christmas to you and may you have a very happy New Year. Keep us up on your travel – we love your reports.
