Wildlife shows us good examples of how to get along. Even when there’s a squirmish within species it often tends to be just a show of strength. Let’s learn from them instead of them learning from us.
Usually I see this. A happy covey of quail bobbling beautifully.
But sometimes I see this.
Or this. No feathers shed and soon eating together side by side. Probably just showing off for a lady.

Whoa. A little Quail-a-tude. Who knew? I reckon even quail can have a bad day, or moment. Fortunately they don't seem to hold a grudge. Yeah, probably something about a lady quail – that's what usually causes those sorts of ruckuses. Fun shots, Gaelyn!
Gaelyn: Very cool shots of the quail, I love their top feather.
A good lesson from Nature, Gaelyn. Hope you're keeping warm!
Great capture! My garden has one fewer quail and and one satisfied hawk.
What lovely quail, quite different from ours!
When something is hungry, they can get a little cranky. But the secret is, that food comes in infinite forms. There is always something that surrounds us that we can take into our being.
wow…I've never seen them fight or show off like that. When I visit my sister, they just run around gobbling up all the seed I put out for them. They are such cute birds.
Whoa–that one guy is steaming–feet up top notch straight up–Just saying I'm here and watch out.
very neat—sorta like my Gulls. LOL MB
Gaelyn, what lovely captures, especially that second shot. Nature can teach us so much if only we take the time to stop, look and listen!
Smiles
They are like kids. Fight tooth and nail one moment and best friends the next.
You sure get a lot of quail. For some reason, quail only visit my yard in the warmer months. Fantastic captures of the fighting!
I just love the top notch, Gaelyn. I love all the beautiful scenes and photos you share with us of your feathered friends. We can do well to learn from nature.
I've never seen a quail squabble before.
I've never seen quail live at all so it's fun to see the "fight". Aren't they lovely looking birds!?
Quail are one of my favorite birds. There is just something so sweet about their bobbing heads and the way they are seem to become confused and startled so easily. Goofy little creatures, but adorable! 🙂
I love these quail pictures! Neat how they're all huddled around in the first photo.
I wish I had seen these birds on our trip. Great pictures.
Cool pictures of the Quail. They would be a new bird for me. Did they find something good to eat on the ground?
Great captures of the quail action. It is interesting that animals almost always conduct their battles without significant bloodshed. Too bad man hasn't figured out how to do that yet.
How funny! Great captures!
