Last winter a friend and I took a ride to Bagdad, and beyond. As it was late afternoon by the time we got to the gravel road leading into Burro Creek we didn’t go very far. I really need to return and camp out there to do some rock hunting: opalite, agate, pastelite and apache tears. Located off highway 93 in central Arizona it’s just north and east about 50 miles of where I live.

That's an intriguing road leading off to the distant hills. It would make good riding, too.
Looks like a great place to go rock hunting…I am a bit behind this week…sigh..lol…Michelle
I like that winding road. My little Granddaughter would love the rocks – she has a "collection". She fills her pockets whenever we go for a walk!
Wow I like the rocks that you named here ^_^ they are precious ones!

Gaelyn: That is a beautiful trail.
I love road photos, and was already planning to use one for my Scenic Sunday post before I saw yours. Very cool place, girl.
WOW! That's a nice place to go rock hunting… nice shot 🙂
Thanks for your comment on my blog.
Thand road seems like it goes on forever. 🙂
Looks like a road into the wilderness. Great shot, thanks for showing
OOOO I'd like to do a little rock hunting too. Love the pattern on the dirt road. MB
Fantastic shot Gealyn !! I loved this post !!Unseen Rajasthan
Fantastic shot, the rock collecting sounds like fun. My son bought some different rock on our trip to Arches, he has a nice collection. What are the Apache Tears, I will have to google a picture.
It was the reference to Bagdad that threw me, and then I realised it was spelt slightly differently to the one in the middle East!

That road does look inviting. I'm sure you would have a great time hunting for rocks and taking pictures.
That road looks like one I would love to go on. Any road without pavement is inviting. Sounds like a great place to visit.
Reminds me of some roads I traveled around Taos in New Mexico a few years back 😉
Hugs and blessings,

Oh interesting road…Happy SS!
It looks pretty lonely out there! I wouldn't want my car to break down on that road. I do like how you captured the curvature in the road as it winds its way through the vegetation.
I am a rockhounder as well. Once I get going it is pretty hard to pull me away! You manged to get a nice pic though. I love Apache tears I have a few in my collection.
That is one road I would like to go down
Beautiful, Gaelyn. Lovely photo and great mind pictures you invoke.
Explorations are endless as we mold and become molded by the landscape that we insert ourselves into. Keep on painting Gaelyn. You are a wonderful artist.
More rock hunting for your collection. I thought you wanted to get rid of some so that the collection can be reduced. LOL. Apache tears sounds like something special.
I love to go rock hunting. In WV we find lots of fossils but not the beautiful rocks you find in the South West. Be sure and show us what you find.
