You’ve already met this guest. And no, I’m not keeping her. In fact she found a new home with one of the neighbors.
Tree lizard
This elusive visitor reappeared by my hiking boots even with the kitty around. I think she missed it.
Then last night I noticed this guest hanging out on the wall. After a few portrait shots I captured it in a glass. Not sure what kind of spider, anybody know.
I know the glass isn’t entirely clear, but it’s all I could find that was close.
Sure glad I don’t have to feed all of them as I’m not a very good cook.
I’m thankful to have so many friends, bloggers and others. I’ll be spending the holiday with great company and hope you will too. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving wherever you are.
I love the spider shadow through the glass. Don't know genus species though.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
I don't think they would eat much! I love the spider shadow, though. Fun post and great captures. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Wow, you are drawing in the Animal world! I'm not too fond of big spiders, but the other two are cute! Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!!
That is a BEAUTIFUL spider Gaelyn. WOW!!
Go and have a look at my comment and the second picture of the lions on SIDECAR today. It is spectacular!!
Happy Thanksgiving Gaelyn
A wide array of household guests you have. the spider looks like a Hobo (typical) Spider so don't let it bit you. Not nice. I got bit in E. Wa. a couple of years ago but thankfully healed quickly.
Happy Turkey Dau. ENJOY!!! MB
Cat, okay. Lizard, sorta okay. Spider, no way. Funny thing is even though I do not like spiders, I do not kill them. I will capture them with a cup and a piece of paper and take them outside.
I think your Couchsurfing guests are a little over the top 😉 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Smiles and blessings
Hey, glad that spider showed up. It makes for some wonderful shots to be thankful for! :<)
Wishing you some good holidays too!
I like your little guests (well, except for the last one, shudder).
😉
Gaelyn, it looks like a huntsman. I love to have them in the house in the summertime, they catch the mosquitos and flies. They just jump on then and eat them all up.
I have even had one running over my face when I was sleeping.
Not sure what type of spider that is. It's good that you caught it in a glass. Have a nice Thanksgiving.

Wow, what a mixture of visitors, Gaelyn. The spider in a glass photo is excellent.
Funny reading all the comments. You have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Looks like a gorgeous day in Georgia today. Love your visitors. The picture of the spiders reflection was great. Did you plan that?
See you have the word verification back.

Maybe a wolf spider? All creatures great and small seem to love your hospitality! I'm not terribly fond of spiders, but they do serve a purpose (getting rid of pesky insects).
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day!
You seem to have a special appreciation for each of your guests. Your pictures, especially of the spider are great. Happy Thanksgiving.
I am not an expert, but (like Pat) I also think that was a wolf spider.
It probably looks scarier than it really is, especially it catches you off your guard. Nevertheless, I'm glad that you caught it, rather than it catching you!!
My,my, your house is popular amongst animals!
Whoa you have had lots of interesting visitors! I bet most of them don't eat pumpkin pie. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and that it was a happy one.
Gaelyn: My wife would die with your visitors in the house. I would be on a spider hunt.
Glorious shots! And I love ordering new books, too! Good luck with the water heater – nothing like a hot shower.
Hi Gaelyn,
I really like these photos of the spider in the glass. The "rainbow" effect is neat! Gosh Gaelyn – you and I would starve if we had to depend on each other!
Does the lizard eat spiders? 😉
Hi Again, Gaelyn, Luckily, Hubby can cook – of course, Lucinda oversees EVERYTHING!
It seems that several thought it was a wolf spider..I will have to look that up…
I love the photo with the shadow of the spider. Cannot tell you what it is as I have no knowledge of US spiders but it looks a lot like our own Rain Spider. They can be really scary if you do not like spiders and have a rather nasty bite. So glad you did not kill it.
It was brilliant putting that spider in that beautiful colorful glass – the last two photos are striking! Love the spider's shadow too. BTW – I'm pretty sure it's a wolf spider.
