So yesterday I rearranged the furniture, and there’s quite a bit of it considering the house is about 15×50 feet, plus a bathroom. Used to be a garage that got added on to. And Berta likes furniture, especially old wood.
Kitchen before
I borrowed a little wagon from Berta and began packing boxes from the RV kitchen.
Kitchen after
Not absolutely everything, just the basic things I use regularly. The idea is to get rid of some stuff, like the survival canned food that’s getting rusty on the back of the pantry shelf.
Before
There are two big windows at each end of the house and I wanted a view from the living room where the last renter had the bed by this window.
After
Next, the RV living room, and again not everything. Some books and of course the computer.
Before
Having no interior walls makes it easy to rearrange.
After
Before
And what a luxury to have more than a closet sized bathroom, with hot water.
After
Almost open for business. Just kidding.

I know that was a huge job, but you have managed to make it your own. It looks good!
Much more spacious than the fifth wheel.
I know what you mean about the survival food, I have decided to throw out most of what is at the cabin. There is a limit to the number of freeze and thaw cycles it can take.
What a lovely space to spend some time in. You did a wonderful job rearranging it, much more efficient it looks. Enjoy that delux Bathroom! 🙂
Glad to see you settling in so nicely. I too have the 'survival' tins that desperately are seeking a cast iron stomach. Going with much less than adequate food for over 2 years, does tend to turn one into a squirrel.
Look forward to more of your nest building.
oh no, I got a visual of you on the toilet. 🙁 🙂
Ok I forgive the image. It's gone.
Looks like a cool little place. Interesting tile job. And now I can see where you type up all of your posts Gaelyn. Can you take another picture of the books on your book shelf. 🙂 Its time for another reading.
Love the transformation in the before and after photos. Looks like a nice space.
You did a great job with the kitchen area. And the bathroom is bigger that I thought would be – but where is the shower (hope you have one:) ) and where did the bed go? Or, is it a sleeping couch that you have there?
Am excited for you that you can settle for a while!
Well how long has it been since being in a stationary home? It looks great. Thanks for taking pics of your progress. I love the tile in the bathroom, is that ceramic? Love the design that was made. Looks like a terrific place to be for a while.
You had your work cut out for you. It looks so cumffy and cozzy now. Home sweet Home. (at lteast for a little while) Blessings to you and yours. Love and Light, Nina P
Well it looks like you have been busy and it looks good—your way. Enjoy the winter. MB
You have made your new surroundings feel like home. I think you'll be quite comfortable there.
My kind of home. Jim and I have spent so much time living in trucks, boats or campers that a place that size seems about right. Does this mean you are no longer an RV'er? We've been on the boat for over a week and must have missed something.

Gaelyn: Very cute, that has to feel like a mansion after the RV. You have some neat decorations. I'll be out for a taco real soon.

The little red house looks very cozy the way you have it fixed up. I like the living room arrangement with the computer by the big window.
Such a cute and cozy little house. Maybe you should open for business!
You've created a cozy nest, Gaelyn – your view out that back window isn't too bad, either!
glad you get to settle into a bit more space for a while. Tacos sound great! We all just may end up on your doorstep soon!
A bit of work, but at least its your space now and you have settled in.
What a nice little house — looks very cozy!
This is so cute! I'm really happy for your hot water!
Holy Crap Gaeyln..you have got to be one of the most prolific bloggers i know..I am so far behind..i feel lost here..I see you are in this cute fixed foundation..but I missed how you ended up here..so how did u get here..why and when..I will come back and catch up with your other posts…I am sorry i am so far behind.
Just the basics for you two. Nice functional house.
How cozy and cute! And, what work it is getting settled, I'm sure. Indian Tacos…I love them! I was at the South Rim a few weeks ago. While having lunch I saw a group of women park rangers. I wanted to have them take a message to you, but, they were seemingly having a serious lunch meeting and I thought twice before interrupting them. But, my thoughts were of you and a big HELLO!
