From Cape Royal trail looking southeast
I took this the night of Cape Royal sunset and posted that series here. They probably should have been my SWF post, but I just couldn’t wait. And this shot was taken on the walk back to my rig after the official sunset was over.

It is now definitely fall at Grand Canyon and the Aspen are turning gold. I hope to post some images tomorrow.

Beautiful! I love the naked tree limbs in the foreground, too.
very nice! I love the dead trees out there–they have such character.
Breathtaking!
Enjoy the weekend.
Those are magnificent colors and the dead tree really adds interest to the photo! Beautiful!
Oh, yes, those bare limbs against that background are incredible and surely does speak of the approach of autumn! Fantastic shots and colors!
Have a great weekend!
Sylvia
Brilliant photo!
Your new title heading is great! The sunset is so pretty too! And that cricket! OMG, wouldn't want to play with it either.
That's a scene worth waking up for. I love the Grand Canyon.
Beautiful photo. I really have to visit that country. You make it so inviting. Too bad teaching gets in the way of the fall there.
thanks.
Lovely!!
Loved this capture of the Canyon..was there last Spring but never a time to capture a sunset. Relatives of mine are RV.ing for a year! You live an adventurous life I'm sure!!
The dark snag in front of those beautiful Grand Canyon sunset colors makes an awesome image.
I agree, the snaggy tree just adds to an already beautiful scene.
Such a wonderful shot, even more so when it is enlarged and you can see the details. It makes me want to go back to spend some more time at the Grand Canyon. The first time we went there, I caught my first glimpse from the road and was honestly struck completely speechless. It's one of those places where the photos are amazing and the reality is absolutely stunning.
Thank you for sharing this great photo.
Awesome. I have to see the canyon in the fall someday.
Your front Yard is Beautiful. The landscaping must have cost a fortune. Well, I guess its Priceless.
I look forward to seing your pictures. This is another great photo and the Canyon is looking awesome.

What a great photo, Gaelyn – very artistic! The canyon makes such a beautiful backdrop.
I really like the silhouette of the tree!
Wonderful dramatic picture. Just perfect.
Gorgeous contrast and color. I also like the juxtaposition of the tree in the foreground and the canyon in the distance.
Great photo! The tree adds so much contrast.
Gaelyn: Another outstanding capture at the Grand Canyon. You live with beauty daily.
So beautiful, it would make a great painting.
That's a wonderful shot. I love bare trees against the sky and even more so in that spectacular setting.
What a "Grand" photo. Thanks for sharing.
Your Cape Royal sunset shots are Great! But this one is also beautiful and shows very nicely the change of the nature and its colours in autumn.
Have a delightful Friday and weekend,

Thank you for visiting My Muskoka !
I realized several people were changing headers with the season and thought it fitting!
I love the views, but none match yours!
Hi Gaelyn;) what a stark subject the tree makes against the soft, sunset background. I look forward to more images.
Hi Gaelyn,
This is an amazing shot of the Grand Canyon…
It should be framed and sold to visitors at the Grand Canyon shop or maybe the flea markets you like to go to…
Pam 🙂
It looks like a sunset could get tangled in that snag and maybe stay a little longer…
Your understanding and knowledge of the Grand Canyon really shows in your pictures – you present a fresh view of it every time!
Such an interesting shot. I love the sharp tree branches against that soft sky. Beautiful.
What wonderful colours! Great composition with the tree in front.
This is so beautiful! Your composition of this shot is great, and evokes wonderful feelings. What an amazing place to enjoy sunsets.
Oh Gaeyln…this is a gorgeous shot!
