After being chased out by an oncoming storm on a quick hike from the Toadstools trail I headed east to camp for the night at Lone Rock beach along Lake Powell in Utah.
The stormy sky made for a great sunset over Lone Rock.
And a great sunrise too.
It sprinkled most of the night. I know because I was awake not able to sleep on the deflated air mattress.
Looking east towards Page Arizona
The beach was crowded for a week night.
Wahweap Bay Lake Powell
I had concerns with the possibility of hard rain cancelling my tour of Antelope Slot Canyon, not the place to be in a possible flash flood.

What tours or activities have you had to cancel because of weather conditions?
The skies seem so big and the colours so brilliant in the desert.
The skies are wonderful.
Great shots! The skies are wonderful there!
Beautiful scenery shots, Gaelyn. I always sigh deeply when I visit your blog!
Lovely shots! The skies are gorgeous. Your new header shot is great!
These are awesome photos. Thanks for sharing, Gaelyn. 🙂
Love them all especially th sunrise. I hope you were standng there drinking coffee and thinking of me. 🙂
Wow – all those shots are stunning. I love the lone rock – so dramatic against the skyline.
There are some spectacular skies amongst those pics.
ps. I just had to go back and look at those canyon pics again. They were truly awesome
wonderful shots all!!
Amazing landscape and dramatic sky!
Very beautiful! Your photos are great. We just drove by Lake Powell, and it was beautiful from a distance, too.
Gaelyn: That is certainly a wonderful place to visit.
Beautiful, beautiful scenery!
I love the light in these photos. You had some great captures of the lake.
The one looking toward Page is fantastic! I love Lake Powell. But I don't like the crowds. If I don't grow up to be you, I think I might like a cabin on Lake Powell somewhere in Utah where there are less people.
I love that area! Awesome photos Gaelyn!
