View from Cape Royal viewpoint Grand Canyon National Park
Sunday after opening the visitor center I drove out the scenic road to give a geology talk at Cape Royal. (Can you see the Colorado River?)
Sego Lily
The .25 mile (.4 km) walk to the overlook took me a while because of all the beautiful blooms.
Desert Paintbrush
Grizzly Bear Cactus
The flowers come in several different colors.
Can you see the bee?
At one point I saw three bees in this flower and it looked very crowded.
Currant Bush
I was tempted to sample but the berries aren’t quite ripe yet.
Plateau Lizard
This little creature decided to check out my backpack.
So that’s what’s happening in my world. To see more of life around the world or to share your own go to My World Tuesday by clicking here.

Love the little lizard, he looks almost like the ones we have in Niger (the females). Love the sample of flowers! Am on the lookout for purple flowers here in Falkenberg, my mother's favourites!
Sunny greetings from Sweden!
lovely flower captures…and the little lizard is oh so cute. i can enjoy lizards but not snakes 🙂
Thanks for showing these beautiful flowers. It's great to see such delicate beauty in those surroundings.
Honestly, you get to see such cool places and things! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Have a great week!
The bee looks like he's half-buried in the pollen. Beautiful blooms and cute lizard. I can see why the walk took awhile.
Beautiful blooms. Hd to enlarge the panorama to get a glimps of the river.
Exquisite flowers, Gaelyn! Thank you so much for sharing them! Your photos are marvelous!
Fragile looking cactus flowers and screen doors covered in lizards… there are a few things I miss about living in Arizona. 😉
Great flower pictures! We have a ton of sego lilies blooming on our hill and I took pictures yesterday. They are so beautiful.
Great pictures of all the flowers and the lizard. Very colorful there.
What a beautiful place to hike. I love the last shot with the lizard and all of the beautiful ones you took on the trail too.
I hope you do get tickets to the Roadshow. I thought I'd answer your question here: I took a Chinese Rose Medallion punch bowl. I found out from the appraiser that it was one of the ones made between 1820 and 1850. It's devalued quite a lot because there is a chip I didn't even notice. It's not an actual broken piece but a little of the ornamental part was chipped on the lip showing the base. It was interesting though and I was mostly going with my friend so I enjoyed it.
Those flowers are stunning.
The flowers in bloom are wonderful! I think that is my favorite thing in the desert climate.
But you can keep the lizards. 🙂
That grizzly cactus looks as though it's made of cellophane! Beautiful colors – I enjoyed your tour.
that hot pink flower with the bee is a stunner!!!thanks for sharing your world with us.
The bee looks busy enjoying the pollen, and the lizard busy checking out your back pack — cool pictures!
Wow, gorgeous blooms – how do you know these currants are edible and not poisonous? Haven't you seen "Into The Wild"?
I love the desert – All that majestic scenery, plus beautiful flowers, plus cute little lizards.
How lovely to have your own lizard hitching a ride with you. 🙂 Those flowers are really beautiful Gaelyn. The desert is a beautiful place when in bloom like this.

Do you rally have currants growing wild?
Beautiful flower photos and those currants sure do look tempting. Cute how you and the Plateau Lizard were curious of each other.
