Vulture Mountains, Arizona
Left town Saturday morning and enjoyed a gorgeous drive through the desert.
Quartzsite, Arizona
After a quick visit with Fab Grandma I headed to Quartzsite. Ran into Joanne selling her beautiful jewelry and couldn’t resist buying a gift for Berta.
Copper, brass & nickel pendant
Sunday after breakfast with Desert Messenger I went to Susanne’s in Bouse and stayed in her little guest house trailer overnight.
Bouse is beyond Hope
The next morning we left for Algadones Mexico at sunrise. We both had dentures realigned which took most of the day. I also got an eye exam and new lenses put in my old frames. Neither of us felt like walking around with no teeth or glasses so we hung out in the courtyard at the dentist’s office. Finally done at 4:15pm and waited almost three hours in line to walk back across the border. Back to the guest trailer by 9:30.
Trailer guest house
Tuesday after a quick stop at Vicksburg fleamarket to see friends, I took a leisurely drive home through the desert, stopping frequently for photos.
Saguaro cactus & Ironwood tree

Somebody’s dream
A very nice journey with many friends visited, yet I was very happy to get home to my own bed. Know what I mean?
Thanks for taking us along on your trip. You shared some beautiful scenery with us.
Ah, the dry and clear desert blue skies. This is a dream that is calling for me.
George: glad you could join me in the stark beauty of this desert.
Bernie: the entire trip was clear blue warm skies. Today, cloudy. Follow your dreams.
we really enjoyed our visit with you! Lynda and I had a good time at the class we went to in Q. Learned a lot. Well, at least enough to be dangerous.
A lovely trip I would say Gaelyn. I love that gift you bought, it is really pretty.
that was lovely and the pics magnificent!
Karen: it was a good but too brief visit. Glad you learned something.
Joan: Berta loves it. Joan makes earings and bracelets with the mixed metals. I need to find her web page adress.
magiceye: thanks, the desert is very photographic.
Sounds like an action packed adventure. Adventures are wonderful, but there is always something comforting coming back to your own bed. Lovely photos along the way.
Yes it is nice to get into your own bed. But in the inimitable wods of Ogden Nash: “home is heaven and orgies are vile, but I like an orgy once in a while!”
Nice to go on a trip, but even nicer to come home.
Gaelyn, these are some beauties, these pictures! 🙂
What a fun time you had! I feel like I was there right along with you. Thanks for the escape from reality!
U huh, I think you posted all these blue sky pictures just for me and I am very grateful! *grin* Love them!
I completely understand about being home in your own bed. 🙂 Love the shots, especially those thin, wispy clouds. They seem almost appropriate for the desert.
