A sure sign of spring – return of the osprey to their ancestral nest.
This single lane bridge is located in Amboy, Washington. When it came time to paint the bridge a new nest holder was built and the long used nest moved. The returning couple settled in like they had for many generations.

I’m thankful for seeing the sky every day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Birds are wonderful, and we need more nest like this to help them survive.
Happy Thanksgiving

that is an interesting tower. great job.
How wonderful to live the life you do. My dream too. We have an Osprey nest on the very top of a power pole on the highway. Birds–go figure. MB
Cool shot! I love Osprey. Such regal birds.
Interesting angle with the wires and metal, too.
Happy Sky Watch Friday!

I’m glad to see your Osprey took to their new man-made nest. Good picture.
Interesting spot for a nest but obviously they must like it.
🙂
What an interesting SkyWatch! How wonderful to be able to see those ospreys nesting. I have only ever seen one once and was surprised at how very large they are.
Thanks for visiting my skywatch!!
I find this much more interesting than swallows and Capistrano
That’s a novelty to me – a nest holder! How kind your construction firms are. We do have a few ospreys in Scotland. I think they like pine trees to nest in.
Thanks for your visit!
What an interesting photo! I like its composition with the nest and the wires.
Happy skywatching.
