Hi Gael. I am a Downers South grad, 1976. I loved your pictures. I found your blog from Bayfield Bunch. I have been following them for years. You are on their favorites. I never knew. I would love to talk with you. I live in Orange County, CA. I have not gone fulltime yet, howerever, I am probably the most expert boondocking, full-timing wanna be that never owned an RV. Ha ha. I would love to talk with you. I have no blog but I am at dg62565@yahoo.com. Look me up in the yearbook, Jim Murphy. My brother graduated with you; Tom.

I know this is strange – but I have never attended a high school reunion – not sure there have been many. Anyways. I was thinking this year is my 40th. I graduated Downers South in 1973. You were in 1972????
I grew up on Park between main and fairview – just north of 55th Street.
Googled Downers South reunion and your blog came up – just thought I would send you a little note.
I now livein Streator llinois – just south of Starved ROck – but teach at an inner city school in Chicago. Yes it is a commute – but just the way it is.
Just curious – what was your last name? Did you go to Oneill Junior High or not?

    Gaelyn,

I happened upon your post in Nov 2012 about Vic Falls . I’ll be going there in early Feb and wondered how you found it in Feb/Mar time frame. Did you get to do a hot air balloon over the falls as all I’ve seen are helicopter/microflights? Any tips for must do items (or things to avoid)? I’m looking at Devil’s pool, elephant back safari, flight over the falls, maybe some repelling, a river cruise….I’d somehow like to get over to where Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana meet, but don’t know if it’s doable.

    I welcome any suggestions!

    Thanks,
    Kef

  6. Hi Geo, Mark here, from Lovely Ouray.
We’ve been doing travel calendars on our Mac computers for 20 years as Christmas presents for family and a few friends. While not cheap, Apple printed wonderful calendars and coffee table books. Of course now all they care about is selling iPhones and they are discontinuing their printshop. Would you mind sharing where you get your calendars printed and how much they cost?
    Happy Travels,
    Thank you,
Mark and Bobbie…left in the lurch by Apple
