This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images from my photo files chosen by 11 readers including several sunsets. Yea, I’m a day late. Not only is work keeping me busy but after finally getting the booster bungeed up a tree my PC died. I had two posts ready to go on it and last months photos which aren’t backed up anywhere else. But thankfully I also have a laptop. Today’s photos are all off the most recent external drive as the others are still packed somewhere. Hope you’ll bare with me as I get back into the the work routine after almost six months of play.
Mary Lou chose #4282. Monsoon is one of my favorite times to photograph the canyon and I’m often at the Lodge roving in the afternoon. This shot was taken on the 4th of July, 2015 just before our water parade.
Jim and Diana chose #2548, “the number of miles we’ve driven since leaving Melbourne Beach, Florida on April 1st.” I first flew 10,004 miles from Phoenix to Johannesburg, South Africa then drove a bunch more visiting national parks. This shot of a Duiker which is a small antelope was taken in Mountain Zebra National Park in February 2013.
Pam and John chose #4312. This sunset shot was taken 3-20-16 through my RV imax windows in Kanab, Utah where I spent the winter.
Sherry and David chose #9703. Look closely at the top of 11,000 foot Brian’s Head for a tiny sheltered overlook that offers a view of Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah. Bill and I were there for the wildflower celebration on 7-12-16.
Diane and Nigel chose #2804. This sunset was from my backyard in Kirkland, Arizona 1-9-17.
Jodee and Bill chose #3290. Another Kirkland sunset from mid-January.
Donna chose #537. Another late afternoon shot taken from the Grand Lodge on the North Rim.
Yogi chose #1273. And yet another sunset, this one taken from one of my favorite views of Grand Canyon. Crazy Jug Point on the Kaibab National Forest 7-25-16.
Patti chose #260. This Grand Canyon sunset view is probably looking familiar from 7-14-16.
Sallie and Bill chose #505. Back to a 2016 sunset over the Vermilion Cliffs in Kanab.
Imkelina and Michael chose #4371. Heart Arch from my visit to Alabama Hills this past March.
I don’t have any photos from last week to share as I’ve just been too busy to take any. But I’ll have some up to date Grand Canyon photos soon.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Join in by leaving a number from 1-9999 in your comment below.
I really love the pix that Pam and John got.
I would like to have #777 for nxt week. Hope things are well at the Canyon.
Rosemary
It’s been unseasonably warm on the North Rim but looks like we have snow coming next week. Have you down for #777.
What a great week of photos!! Love every single photo…Wow! We did pick a good number:) I’ve never seen Brian’s Head without snow. The few times we crossed that pass, it was completely covered and twice snowing up there as we drove.
#9714
I’ve only been to Brian’s Head without snow. Have you down for #9714.
Loved all the beautiful photos- thanks for sharing! Please put me down for 5520 for next week- Mary Lou
Thanks Mary Lou. You get #5520 next week.
Happy back to work week … and I look forward to your sharing some more of your pay (in sunsets) with all of us. (It is so generous of you :))).)
Loving all the beautiful skies today … and that heart arch is wonderful too.
Thanks. It’s great to be back. Been in the high 60s but looks like snow next week.
Really love my picture. We were at Cedar Breaks for the Wildflower Festival one year too. Brings back happy memories. Of course any picture of the canyon or sunrises or in your case sunsets is tops on my list. I’ll take 5261 for next week please.
The flowers at Cedar Breaks are marvelous. Plus great that their high elevation bloom comes after ours at the North Rim. Have you down for #5261.
Love all the moody skies and colors of the canyon, what a great selection we all made this week! 9110 for next week please.
Sometimes it’s the sky that makes the photo. You did good. Guess we’ll see what next week brings for your #9110.
Nothing beats a good photo of a sunset and I enjoyed everyone of these. Don’t work too hard 🙂 605 for next week please. Diane and Nigel.
Thanks Diane. Back to work is still kicking my butt and cutting into photography time. You get #605 next week. Be well.
Loving all these especially the sunset pics. I’ve been a terrible blogger lately, writing posts but not visiting people.
Next week is 2273 for me!!
Thanks Yogi. I’ve been struggling with time to read, write, or photograph lately. #2273 for you next week.
Enjoyed all the sunsets. The sunset from your backyard in Kirkland looks like your own mini-Stonehenge.
Next week: #547
Thanks Donna. It does have a Stonehenge look. Have you down for #547.
So many of the photos had a similar theme this week, that’s pretty interesting in itself. And, of course, they’re all terrific. You have such an eye.
Next week #270
Thanks Patti. Does seem like there’s often a theme to the photos but guess that’s no surprise. Have you down for #270.
Such amazing landscape. My favourite is the sunset from backyard in Kirkland, Arizona 🙂
Thanks Lisa.
