This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by 11 readers from my photo files and marks three years of posting this Friday Fun with photos. Hope you continue to enjoy as I share the memories.
Diane chose #9993. Beautiful fall colors at sunset over Transept Canyon North Rim Grand Canyon National Park from 2014. Unfortunately she will miss these colors during the June visit.
George chose #9491. The iconic Wave of sandstone in Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness which I finally got to see last August.
Mary Lou chose #2516. I am fascinated by the twisting contortions of dead trees like this fallen Juniper seen on the Walhalla Plateau at the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park.
John & Pam chose #7654. I am truly wondering if they have a copy of my photo files because they just went to the Pahrea Town Site last week. That’s three in a row with lots of coincidence.
Bibi chose #5236, “the distance in kilometers from Belgrade to Delhi.” Not so much distance for me to see the gorgeous wildflowers last February at Palm Canyon in Anza Borrego State Park, California.
Sherry chose #3874. A not so great image of the Granite Narrows of the Colorado River seen from Jumpup Point.
Jodee chose #698. A most memorable experience rafting the Colorado River back in August, 2011.
Shane chose #2345. Even with rainy weather I still enjoyed seeing wildlife like these Springbok at Camdeboo National Park, South Africa.
Donna chose #6189. An almost bird’s eye view of a foggy Grand Canyon taken at Cape Royal overlook on the North Rim.
Sallie chose #4616, “My older great-grandson’s birthday.” At nine years old this boy might still like seeing a unique creature like these Egyptian geese seen at Kruger National Park, South Africa.
Yogi chose #2352. Being his family likes to vacation at the beach I think he’ll enjoy these waves at Tsitsikamma National Park. Even if they don’t make it to South Africa.
My choice from the stormy drive to northern Utah last week.
And an extra one, because I can and liked the postcard look of these electric train lines in Salt Lake City.
Please join in for next week by leaving a number between 0001 and 9999 in your comment below. A big thanks to everyone for playing along with Foto Friday Fun and allowing me to share these photographs and memories.
Do you have a favorite this week?
April Fools
I had fun playing with these photos. The real shots are below.
I like the other version better
So which versions do you like better?
Wow I like my choice this week. The original I think is nicer in my opinion.
4116
Thanks George. Mostly I prefered the originals, but was fun to play. Have you down for #4116.
Is the Blesbok an April Fool, as it looks like Springbok to me. I like both sets of photos, it just goes to show how things can be changed. Sure I will love the North Rim regardless of the time of year and colours, just so looking forward to it. Take care Diane
No, it’s a Springbok. I screwed up when labeling the photos. Fixed now. Thanks. I know you’ll love the canyon. No number this week?
Ooops 9994 for next week please.
Have you down for #9994.
Enjoyed all the photos especially the second set. Please put me down for 7476 for next week.
Thanks Mary Lou. It was fun to play with the photos. Have you down for #7476.
This week I choose 1117
Have you down for #1117.
HAHAHAHA! You had me with the blue ‘vermilion cliffs’… I was wondering! My flower looks better in real life… 🙂
No number for next week….I will be at the tiger reserve, if all goes well.
Jealous!
The second set sure looks a lot different Gaelyn. Great pictures as always.
Thanks Joan. It was fun to play.
Haha! Clever idea, Gaelyn:) I prefer the original photos, as well.
That is so strange that I keep choosing photos from a recent experiences! The Paria site was an amazing place.
Another great week of wonderful photos.
#6543
Thanks. If it happens again this week I’ll be creeped out. Need to get back to the Paria. Have you down for #6543.
Paria Canyon photos. The black & white is surreal.
Pretty cool to play around with.
Funny girl! Enjoyed the first version and didn’t notice anything weird except that I really wondered about that blue sandstone wave. Sometimes my colors change (without post processing, especially sunsets) so I thought maybe that was what happened with the sand. Actually I kind of like the fooled-you version — even more dreamlike that the real thing.
Dominic would love the geese in any version. He’s the great-grand who used to be afraid of birds because one stole his french fry — but he has outgrown that and enjoys nature now, including birds.
I’m going with #2016 just because I don’t think anyone has yet.
Girls just gotta’ have fun. Have you down for #2016.
HA! Love your joke. Well asking me which version I Iike better is like asking me which is my favorite of your fabulous photos. I wondered about those first two or three, especially the wave. Very cool to see it in Blue. I like both of those. I like the real fall colors better but think the dead trees look great in black and white. Hard to choose on the stormy drive picture which is fabulous. I “might” give a slight edge to the first one as it looks more ominous. Very cool Gaelyn. I’d like #8999 for next week please.
Thanks. Just wanted to change it up a bit. I actually like some of the tweaked shots better, like the storm and the B&W. Have you down for #8999.
I especially like the “fooled with” dead gnarly tree but my “normal” rafting trip is my favorite! Since we’ll only be seeing it from the top this week, it’s fun to see this angle. For next week 547 please.
I too like that one better, and the stormy road shot too. You’ll love the canyon views from the South Rim. Have you down for #547.
Hi Gaelyn, I loved the spooky look of the dead gnarled tree. I love every image. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jo
Thank you Jo. Be well.
I love the edit of the wave shot – very watery looking! The fog at the Canyon rim makes for a mysterious photo. Hope spring has emerged for you. I finally located it at a lower altitude.
Thanks Barb. I like the “Ice” Wave. I think spring is here to stay. Glad you found it.
Fun! Isn’t it great that not only can we take as many pictures as we want without worrying about development costs, we can also twiddle with those photos to our hearts content? I don’t think I ever could have gotten into film photography. You got me with the blue wave.
#5311 for me this week, please.
I love digital! Used to spend a lot of time ‘playing’ with photos. Have you down for #5311.
You know that I love both versions. SOOC is good with me but so are edits and filters.
The raft pics in the canyon are what I like the best.
I figured you’d like my fun. I dream of rafting the river again.
