Bibi chose #9860, “which was my low blood pressure this morning!” Seeing this baby Rhino frolic around with the freedom of a child at play might raise that blood pressure. Look closely on the right and you’ll see the huge horns of its mother as she kept a watchful eye. Joan and I watched this little one dance around for quite a while at Pilanesberg Game Reserve, South Africa.
Diane chose #3008. Often seen at many South African parks in the morning light these huge webs of the Garden Globe spider glistened in the sun at Addo Elephant National Park. There’s usually a bunch of the webs, and spiders, in near proximity.
Mary Lou chose #5415. Hopi dancers are always a highlight of the Grand Canyon North Rim’s annual Native American Heritage Days. Here, Derek and his sons perform the Horse Dance on the Grand Lodge verandah.
Yogi had random(dot)org chose #5274. One of a panorama taken in the gardens at Forever Resort Badplaas, South Africa. Although the gardens are beautiful the best part about Badplaas is the thermal water slide. It will bring out the kid in anyone.
Sherry chose #1324. When leaving the North Rim I often stop at the Jacob Lake Inn, sometimes for their famous cookies or a milkshake. And I almost always peruse the jewelry department in the gift shop. This exquisite inlay in sterling silver pendant had just been delivered by artist Richard Begay so I met him when I added it to my collection.
Shane chose #6150, one of the suspension bridges along the mouth of Storms River and part of a trail in Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa. This shot from my second hike on this trail with Joan.
Jodee chose #0309. Back to Pilanesberg Game Reserve where Joan and I used to stop for breakfast and watch various wildlife like these giraffes come to a salt lick.
Sallie chose #9000, “because I’m probably last.” And although she wasn’t last in this week’s choices she, like me, would never be last to take in a sunset. This one seen from a friend’s back yard in Chino Valley, Arizona.
Patti chose 1956, “It was a good year for me.” So I looked in my files for photos from 1956 at two years old with my first set of wheels. Nobody could keep me in one place from then on.
My choice this week seen on the way into Green River, Utah the day after our visit to Arches National Park.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
Hi Gaelyn, I loved seeing the baby rhino playing. The mother was indeed close by. Hope you’re having a great day. Jo
Those babies are SO cute.
my number is 6768
Have you down for #6768. Thanks for playing along Mary Lou.
We all chose well this week 🙂 Love the dancers and the web, but my giraffes are definitely the best! Seeing them in the wide open spaces has to be incredible – thanks for sharing them with me. I’ll take 5656 for next week.
Seeing all the South African wildlife in the wild was wild. I want to go back. Have you down for #5656.
Great series! I like the Badplaas photo best, and at first I thought the giraffe had another neck and head protruding from its rear. You are of course adorable on your tricycle… 🙂
I’ll have # 1978, the year my son was born. Doing daughter next week. 😉
Thanks. The gardens at Badplaas were nice, but that thermal water made me never want to leave. Have you down for #1978.
Hard to say what’s my favorite today with Giraffes, Rhinos, Hopi dancers and cute little you. Are those metal sculptures on the ridge in your last picture? They are very interesting. Would love to know who put them there.
Thanks Sherry. Yes they are metal sculptures on the ridge. Pretty cool huh? Can’t find anything online about them. No number this week?
I am not a fan of spiders but I have to admit they make beautiful webs. Love the two year old on the bike 🙂 4008 for next week please. Have a good weekend Diane
I’m with you on both spiders and their webs. Such amazing construction. Have you down for #4008.
I couldn’t make sense out of that baby rhinoceros at first. I mistook it for a warthog. I can’t imagine the thrill of seeing a rhinoceros in the wild.
#6743 for me this week, please.
Considering the adults are usually just browsing or lumbering along it was a surprising treat to see this little one dance and prance about. Have you down for #6743.
My sunset is beautiful and you are right about how I love them (of course you knew that). and I love the animals and the travel — everything is fabulous today. Was really taken by that picture of baby you! It is SO Gaelyn!!
Thank you so much Sallie. I’d like to share a sunset with you in real time.
Oh to see giraffes and rhinos in the wild. I love the pic you chose for me, paths, walkways, and trails speak to me.
Random.org says 2515 is my number for next week.
Wish I was in the summer of South Africa right now watching the wild. Have you down for #2515.
