This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 6 images chosen by readers from my photo archives. Our meme number for this week is 1953. Please link in any day this week by digging into your archives and sharing a photo and story on your blog. Plus check out the other posts linked to the Foto Friday Fun meme.
gumo chose #1953, my first and only sighting of dolphins while at Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa.
Sherry chose #8290, a Karoo blue tulip seen at Mountain Zebra National Park, South Africa.
Diane chose #0707, the Heceta Head Lighthouse seen from Sea Lion Point along US101.
Jodee chose #1210, “for Tessa’s birthday.” So her present is last light on the canyon walls.
Yogi chose #1847, the lush hills and towering cliffs at Golden Gate Highlands National Park, South Africa.
Sallie chose #0025. Can you see the reflection of Joan’s truck in this zebra’s eye taken at Pilanesburg Game Reserve, South Africa?
My choice this week was very difficult as I just spent the last couple days touring Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument with Bill and saw so many wonderful sights it was not easy to pick my favorite. Grosvenor Arch was definitely a highlight. And if I can find time and get a strong enough signal I hope to post about these sights soon.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
Your meme number is my birth year! I always love this post and the sun on the waves in Tsitsikama is my favorite. Enjoy your weekend. Jo
So you are only one year older than me. 😉 Although I’m not usually much of a water baby I truly love Tsitsikamma. Think about leaving a number and joining in.
All stunning photo and I love them all. Interesting 1953 is the year we drove overland to Rhodesia 🙂 0807 for nest week please. Have a great weekend Diane
Thank you Diane. I love reading your stories of African travels. Have you down for #0807.
Well it’s another to hard to choose from these fabulous pictures. I’ve never ever seen a blue tulip. That’s amazing. And of course I love any canyon picture as well as any ocean picture especially with a lighthouse. Well maybe not “any” but any of yours. The lush hills make me want to get out and hike all over them. The gorgeous zebra is just out of this world. He may become my desktop. Great Friday for pictures for sure.
Thanks Sherry. It’s not a tulip like we know and there were fields of them. Those lush hills at Golden Gate did beckon us to hike. Enjoy the zebra on your desktop. No number this week?
The Grosvener Arch is wonderful; amazing you get to hike around in this little-used area; thanks for sharing photos of places we’ll never get to ever.
I was amazed at the blue tulip. And I adore the closeup of “my” zebra. So beautiful and yes I do see the reflection.
How about 6309 for my number. It’s the last four digits of an old phone number (our last land line). The other day when someone asked me for my phone number I rattled it off even though we haven’t had that phone for over a decade. Wonder where my mind was … a little scary.
The arch is spectacular and I will post more about this amazing loop drive soon. Thought you might like “your” zebra. Was just luck to get the truck reflection as it was so close to the window. That’s just too funny to remember you old phone number. Have you down for #6309.
It was great to meet you. I’ve been up to my ears going through the photos from my road trip. I’m not complaining, mind you, lots of good stuff. Now I know the voice and personality behind this blog and these photos, it makes it all the better. I loved your jewelry, btw, turquoise earrings and bracelet I believe.
Hecata Head is such a pretty spot on the Oregon Coast. I still often stop at the Sea Lion Caves if I’m driving up the Coast. It was always an exciting place to go when I was a kid and I still enjoy seeing those large animals in their natural habitat. #289 for me this week, please.
Was good to meet you too. I’ll bet you have loads of photos with all the places visited. Haven’t had time to read your posts yet. I collect jewelry and it’s nice to spruce up the ugly uniform colors. All of the Oregon coast is spectacular. Have you down for #289.
I love the dolphins, and the lighthouse, the cliffs, and the zebra, and all of them.
My number for next week is 717
Thanks. Glad you are easy to please. Have you down for #717.
