This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 9 images chosen by readers from my photo archives. Our meme number for this week is 531. Please link in any day this week by digging into your archives and sharing a photo and story on your blog. Plus check out the other posts linked to the Foto Friday Fun meme.
Jodee chose #531, “for the day we move into the rig!” She and hubby begin full-time RV living then and fly away from their old home. Kind of like this Rufous hummingbird that flies to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon during summer from a different home.
Yogi chose #70. A ringtail cat on display at the California Living Museum in Bakersfield, California when I was a volunteer animal keeper in the 80s. They are nocturnal so rarely seen. In fact they live at the North Rim also but seems only their scat evidence is found in the Grand Lodge.
Becci chose “110 for the Art of it – 78 for the Fun of it.” Seems this closeup of a stump along the Transept Trail on the North Rim is pretty arty. And helping out with a Halloween celebration for the Congress, Arizona school kids sure was a lot of fun.
Sallie forgot a number so I’m giving her #325 for the amount of characters in her comment. The Painted Desert along SR89 through the Navajo Reservation has a lot of character with it’s multicolored hills.
Shane chose #2629, the remains of an old toll house along Swartberg Pass in South Africa. Of all the mountain roads I traveled this one was my favorite.
Diane chose #0107 a nest with Redwinged Starling chicks at a store and restaurant stop in Pilanesberg Game Reserve South Africa. Joan and I stopped here almost daily for a frozen passion fruit Fruitare treat. And to check on the baby birds of course.
Sherry chose #5231, “the first 4 digits of my daughter’s wedding date.” She recently posted some photos that are more beautiful than these two butterflies I saw along the Palm Canyon trail in Anza Borrego Desert State Park, California.
Jonker chose #1234, a view of Grand Canyon from the remote Point Sublime along the North Rim.
My choice, back to Snake Gulch where I hiked Wednesday with Bill then camped overnight. On the drive out I scanned the rock walls and there are petroglyphs in the alcove above the spillway in this shot taken from the road. Guess there’s a whole lot more to explore out there.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
Hello Gaelyn, these are awesome shots. The hummer is one of my favorites along with the shots of the canyon!
Happy Friday, have a great weekend!
Thanks Eileen. Enjoy your weekend.
I like the picture you chose for me (I had quite a few characters in my comment — I have a tendency to use too many of them). Before I forget again, I will choose 7215 to remind myself of how many (few) days we have left in Florida this season. We leave on that date if all goes according to plan. I cannot wait to read more about Snake Gulch; also like the SA mountain road shots and of course can’t see too much of where you are now! So lovely —
I love your comments. Leaving FL already? More coming on Snake Gulch. Have you down for #7215.
I love the close-up of the stump and of course, the nest of the Red-winged Starlings. Have a great weekend. Jo
Thanks Jo.
Loved Pilanesburg and the starlings are cute, but I love Jonker’s shot of the canyon, it is amazing.
Have a great weekend and 0207 for next week. Diane
I thought you’d like to see Pilanesburg. Have you down for #0207.
Another lovely group of photos! I liked seeing the hummingbird, a sweet little bird that sadly doesn’t come this far north. However, that doesn’t stop the box stores from having hummingbird feeders on their shelves–go figure! I’ve been missing in action the last few weeks while I’ve been taking advantage of an early spring to get my yard work done. Seems to take me longer every year to get it done! I’ll choose 605 for next week.
Thank you Elaine. Glad that the spring weather has allowed you out to do yard work. Have you down for #605.
Sallie got a beauty of a picture and she even forgot her number. Seems like Snake Gulch is going to be a super place to go and give lots of fine pictures. Just hope there aren’t too many snakes given its name. How about number 3094 for next week?
Did see an few more panels but no snakes, that goodness. Have you down for #3094.
Cool picture of the toll house and love that ring-tailed cat. Nice selection as always!
#516 for me this week, please.
Thanks Shane. Have you down for #516.
Love my little hummingbird. Believe it or not I was talking to Bill just today about the window hummingbird feeder I got for a friend and wondering if she used it – exactly like the one in that photo 🙂 Snake Gulch is a lovely spot! I choose 1008 for this Friday – my very first address.
Funny little coincidence. I haven’t put that feeder up this season and should because I hear the hummers around. Have you down for #1008, when you had an address. 😉
Great pics all, I liked the old toll house best.
I am picking 465 for the number of pics I took in Hawaii during our vacation. With our dumbed down ISP upload speed that could be the number of days it is going to take to get them uploaded to Flickr.
Thanks Yogi. Only 465 pics? If I’d been in Hawaii I’d have filled several mem cards. Sorry to hear about the slow ISP. Good luck with that. Have you down for #465.
