This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 8 images chosen by readers from my photo archives. Our meme number for this week is 0071. Please link in any day this week by digging into your archives and sharing a photo and story on your blog. Plus check out the other posts linked to the Foto Friday Fun meme.
Diane chose #0071 in staying with her James Bond theme. And the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida seems like the mysterious kind of place that James would be found. Although I didn’t see him there when visiting back in 2005.
Elaine chose #1250 which takes us onto Lake Powell approaching Dangling Rope Marina. I truly loved being on the water but still have conflicting feelings about the the flooding of Glen Canyon.
Sherry chose #6878, the prize at the end of the Tsitsikamma Waterfall trail. We’ll take our bathing suits along for the next hike here.
Sallie chose #1960, “the year [of birth] for the next oldest kid.” Her number brings up 1 of 4 in a panoramic view from Echo Ravine trail in Golden Gate Highlands National Park, South Africa. Joan and I were camped behind the cluster of trees below to the left. With only one day to explore this park is on my return to list.
Yogi chose #5591 which is backwards of his number from last week. World Hoop dance champion Derrick Suwaima dances frontwards and backwards with five hoops flying around at the same time. I’ve seen him perform several times at the North Rim’s Native American Heritage Days and am entranced every time.
Shane chose #2129, a look at just one of many rooms in the Owl House where Helen Martins created her art with light and colors. I toured through her collection during a side trip to Nieu-Bethesda in South Africa.
Jonker chose #1975, “my birth year.” Because he loves to see photos of the canyon this will be an early birthday present. The Colorado River as seen from the Walhalla overlook on the North Rim of Grand Canyon.
My choice this week is also the Colorado River, but this time seen from my recent visit to the South Rim.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
All your photos are spectacular but that last pic at the South Rim begs to be framed!
Thanks Lynda. I’m getting better at the camera and post processing. Feel free to frame it.
The owl house photo is a trip. It looks like a miniature at times to me, then at others it’s obviously not, and such wonderful colors. Nice.
#2694 for me this week, please.
The Owl House was a very peculiar place. Have you down for #2694.
Great set of photos but I also love that photo of the South Rim, it is spectacular. 0072 for next week, James will pop up in one of them I am sure 🙂 Happy Easter Diane
Thanks Diane. I’ll keep my eyes open for James. Have you down for #0072. Happy Easter to you both.
All are amazing!
Thanks Jenn. Feel free to leave a number and play along.
That last photo of the South Rim is fabulous!! Well done, Gaelyn! I’ll choose 1313 for next week.
Thanks Elaine. Have you down for #1313.
I love my picture!! I love wsterfalls and would be thrilled to swim in one. How fabulous! Make sure you do that. We were so lucky to be able to see the hoop dancer at the south rim. That is a great photo. I have no conflict about the flooding iof Glen Canyon, I’m with Cactus Ed all the way. Great canyon shots asd always. You are superb at photographing the beauty and moods of the canyon. #4680 for next week. please.
Thanks Sherry. I do hope to swim below that waterfall one day. Also agree with Ed and that’s why I never want to go on Lake Powell again. Have you down for #4680.
Incredible pics yet again. I love the hoop dance pic that you chose for me. I have seen some good hoop dancers and would love to see the world champ in action. Your two canyon pics are awesome, especially the second one, and your Lake Powell pic is special because yes Lake Powell is awesome but I also have conflicting feelings about it plus I visited the area before there was a Lake Powell and saw the dam under construction.
Thanks Yogi. Derek is amazing and I’ve seen other hoop dancers too. If I’d seen Glen Canyon before Lake Powell I’d surely cry every time.
I forgot my number. It is 060 for next week cuz that is how old I am going to be by the time of your next installment.
Right on! Happy 60th to you, which will be your number next week. Of course, you’re already celebrating. 😉
Since you gave me that beautiful park in SA for ‘my’ picture and since you’re going back, I think it would be only fair if I could hitch hike along with you. Catching up with all your posts and loving it!
You are more than welcome to join me on a journey in South Africa.
