This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 7 images chosen by readers from my photo archives. Our meme number for this week is 1212. Please link in any day this week by digging into your archives and sharing a photo and story on your blog. Plus check out the other posts linked to the Foto Friday Fun meme.
Elaine chose #1212 which is a southwest view from Cedar Breaks’ Sunset View overlook. This small National Monument in southwest Utah offers spectacular hoodoos like a mini Bryce Canyon without being so crowded.
Yogi chose #1387 when early morning light glows on the south rim under a stormy sky at Grand Canyon National Park.
Sherry chose #1113 and may recognize this hoodoo view and beyond taken at Bryce Canyon National Park September 2010.
Diane chose #2007, a zoomed in view of a side canyon across from the iconic Toroweap overlook, Grand Canyon National Park.
Bibi chose #226, “for Feb. 16th, when my daughter’s baby is due.” And she is currently in Seattle waiting for this big event. A true irony on her photo of Greenland Lake on the North Rim Grand Canyon taken June 2008 because when she visited last summer there was no water in the lake. In Arizona a lake is anything bigger than a puddle.
Sallie chose #9000, a pair of South African crows hanging out under a daytime moon at Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park taken March 2014.
Jonker chose #7999. Stewart Thomson creates jewelry inspired by nature often incorporating a framed photo with the finished product as in the case of this pendant. He was an Artisit-in-Residence at the North Rim last summer.
My choice is from the desert camp along Plomosa Road just out of Quartzsite, Arizona near the Blogger-Fest. The flags are from surrounding RVs. I am back in Yarnell now and already missing those saguaro sunsets. Especially as I came home to a blown kitchen faucet—which I replaced—and a non-cold refrigerator/freezer. After I have that replaced I’ll be more than ready to head out again to explore more southern deserts.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
Cedar Breaks is definitely a place I’m going to have to visit soon. Utah is a pretty amazing state in terms of natural beauty.
I’ll take #2799 this week.
I think beauty can be found almost everywhere but do agree that Utah is extra exceptional. Have you down for #2799.
What a great set of photos. I feel so like I have been to the Grand Canyon as I have been lucky enough to visit so much of it through your eyes. Thanks Gaelyn for all these virtual tours, they are so much appreciated. While I am with 007 lets try 3007 for next week.Keep well hope the fridge arrives soon. Diane
I’m happy to share the canyon and glad you get to see it any way possible. Fridge gets delivered next Friday. Have you down for #3007.
This has not been your year for plumbing and appliances. I applaud your persistence in keeping cool and collected even when your refrigerator is not. 🙂
Unfortunately, all part of home maintenance.
Love all the canyon shots from the different SW Parks. And ‘my’ picture is wonderful; I am convinced a daytime moon has magical qualities. Since I am actually here on Friday for a change I will take #1 if nobody else has chosen it already. Or the next lowest.
I was a little bit worried when you said you were back to troubles but glad to see right away that you would be able to get them fixed and get on the road again. Winter is’t over yet.
Interesting how the SW park’s canyons are the same yet so different. I’ll be keeping an eye on the desert weather and maybe after next week can hit the road again. Have you down for #1.
Another bunch of lovely photos, but I do like that last one of the desert sunset! Hopefully you’ll get all your household repairs out of the way so you can go and play some more. I need to backtrack a bit and see what you’ve been doing recently as I’ve not been on the computer much recently. Just a peek at your last post is drawing me in. I’ll take 201 for next week.
Thank you Elaine. I had a wonderful time playing in the desert and hopefully will be back out soon. Have you down for #201.
I think I remember that place and you told me it would be a lake. Nature is truly amazing.
I’ll have 2248, since that’s my birthday….comin’ up!
Yes, that’s the place. Have you down for #2248 and assume your birthday is Feb 24th.
I’m thrilled with the photo you picked for me. I’ll take a canyon view anytime.
Let me see, for next week, lets say 1313 for me. Just to play with your 1212 this week.
No bad views of the canyon. Have you down for #1313, doubles, lucky and primes. 😉
Such astounding colours in the rocks!! I wish I had the time to explore the Canyon more when I was there.
You’ll just have to come back. And you could pick a number. 😉
I love to travel through you and your blog through your part of the States. The beauty may not be foresty but it is exceptional. But you know that. Always love the canyon pictures.
Could I have #1652 next week. The year Europeans came to South Africa and set up the first permanent settlement in the Cape
Glad to have you along. Have you down for the historic #1652.
While I love all your photos, as usual, my favorite this week has to be the zoomed in view of a side canyon!! I just love the colors and layers of the rocks!! Oooo! So beautiful!! 8*)
Thank you for the eye candy! I am going to check out Stewart Thomson too! I love that combination of photography and jewelry!! 8*)
PS: May I have number 2428? Kinda my Mum’s Birthday, Feb. 24, 1928. 8*)
Thank you Melissa. I too love the colors and textures to the rocks. Stewart’s work is incredible. Have you down for #2428.
