Arizona may be know for it’s deep blue skies but come monsoon season the clouds roll in creating shadows across the landscape. And sometimes bring rain.

I know everyone could use a little rain…we think our 100 degree weather is going to leave at the end of the day today bring back the 80′s tomorrow.
It seems to me the the richness of the colors always pops out with the clouds. Such a beautiful canyon it is.
On my long commutes in the car to work, I am just about done with the book “The National Parks, America’s Best Idea” by Ken Burns. I hadn’t realized that the Grand Canyon was a National Monument for so long…boy, did they not have that one right from the start!
Takes my breath away!

The skies right now are wonderful. Today it’s overcast in Tucson. We just came back from a nice two days of serious hiking. My body aches just a bit:) Thanks for sharing you skies. Best view in Arizona:) Hope the tourists have been playing nice:)

i remember being there for monsoon season once
a billion frogs or toads showed up during the down pour
when the rain stopped
they all vanished
as if they had been part of a dream
lovely wonderful photo

I bet the clouds with blue skies inbetween along with the rich colours of the canyon would make for some good HDR effect pictures.
